Arcade button to turn on/off monitor
-
I’ve been using the PIR sensor module to have my monitor turn on/off for a while now. But I’ve always been frustrated weird sensitivity of the sensor; sometimes it works perfectly, other times it continues to detect movement despite there being none. I’m looking for a way to allow inputs from an arcade button (I got one of these https://www.adafruit.com/product/917) to toggle the monitor now for better consistency.
Any help appreciated, I am totally clueless in terms of coding except fiddling around with settings.

@HandyDandy You can modify
MMM-BUTTONfor that purpose. -
Ooo really? Thanks for pointing that out, I took a glimpse over that module and I thought it only included switches done via PC/phone. I’ll take a more careful look thanks!

How would I use mmm-button to achieve this?
Cheers -
@robmcc83 Start with the
README.md(link) and then follow the “How to connect a button” link for a hardware walkthrough. Once you’ve carefully followed the walkthrough, configuration should be straightforward. -
As for the PIR sensitivity, that can usually be adjusted.
