    • RE: MMM-Wifi_QR-Code

yeah, i searched all “noteworthy” developers from this forum at GitHub and was searching for modules :P
even in the MMM-Remote-Control there are many modules listed, but unfortunately without a description.
But hey, as i said the community is great and very helpful.

And yes, your module is what i was looking for, too.

      Off-Topic Question:
Can i set a header in every module, even it is not intended in the “main.js” of the module?

    • RE: MMM-Wifi_QR-Code

i need to say, that i was searching long times in this forum and everywhere else to find the most modules.
Cause in the “official” 3rd Party modules list, there are much less modules then actually exist.
even the “MMM-EasyPix” module i have never heard about, although i already looked at mykle’s profile^^

But i think especially the MagicMirror project is a very good way for newbies to learn about programming and so on. Mostly simple handling at all and a great community ;)

    • RE: MMM-Wifi_QR-Code

actually i do it with the MMM-ImagePhotos module

      sudo apt-get install qrencode

      qrencode -t png -o ~/MagicMirror/modules/MMM-ImagesPhotos/uploads/guest_wifi_config.png 'WIFI:S:mywifi-SSID;T:WPA2;P:wifipassword;;'

      thats it.
But to help newbies creating ideas, what they can do with their MagicMirror i thought it would be easier to create an own module, (without the updateintervall which is used by the ImagesPhotos module.)

    • RE: MMM-Wifi_QR-Code

That sounds great. I was thinking about using the MMM-Globe module, cause its able to show a picture from every source.
Also u could just generate the QR-Code as a picture and use this source.
But a seperate Module would ne easier for newbies i think.

    • RE: Bring!

      Stand 30.12.17

      my mail to Bing:
      (use google translate pls)

      Hallo Bring-Team,

    • MMM-Wifi_QR-Code

      hey guys,

what about a module, that shows a QR-Code, which can directly connect visitors to your wifi-network.
      like this: https://lifehacker.com/create-a-qr-coded-easy-access-guest-wi-fi-network-with-1790278590

that would be a great addition in my opinion, and if someone knows how to do this it would be great :D

      rmdir /home/pi/MagicMirror

      or maybe

      sudo rmdir /home/pi/MagicMirror

    • RE: Npm start issues

that should be the reason, why u are running in trouble. With the lite version there are missing some packages, which u have to install manually.

i would delete the MagicMirror folder with “rmdir MagicMirror” and try to set it up again with using the second link i posted above.

Even better if u install a whole new OS on your SD-Card, 'cause i don’t know what stuff is installed there.

    • RE: Npm start issues

hmm. which os did u use? is it a fresh install?
I’m using stretch lite, but that needs more steps to install the MM.

So i recommend to use a desktop version (with pixel) for the first.
If u did, i would use this guide: https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/236/complete-setup-tutorial

Or, if u would like to use a lite OS Version i would use this: https://github.com/MichMich/MagicMirror/wiki/Jessie-Lite-Installation-Guide

Last one worked fine for me. It takes about 30-60 Minutes all in all to set up the Magic Mirror when i did it first time. Important is to read carefully and take the time u need for it ;)
