  • RE: Calendar not updating

    @sdetweil Trying this.
    Steps:

    1. add new test event scheduled tomorrow
    2. verify event on another device, proving calendar server sync
    3. curl .ics file from server, find test event
    4. set calendar module as described in your post above

    Result:
    calendar loads successfully, but still does not show new event.

    Event as shown in ics file:

    BEGIN:VEVENT
    CREATED:20240109T161646Z
    DTEND;TZID=Europe/London:20240110T170000
    DTSTAMP:20240109T161647Z
    DTSTART;TZID=Europe/London:20240110T160000
    LAST-MODIFIED:20240109T161646Z
    SEQUENCE:0
    SUMMARY:test54321
    TRANSP:OPAQUE
    UID:156ED8F1-9BDA-43D2-BE7C-DDEFE18E95EF
    URL;VALUE=URI:
    X-APPLE-CREATOR-IDENTITY:com.apple.mobilecal
    X-APPLE-CREATOR-TEAM-IDENTITY:0000000000
    END:VEVENT

    I think MagicMirror does not like the baikal server - no events created since I migrated from iCloud to self-hosted baikal are showing. Can you see anything unusual in the ics event above @sdetweil ?

  • RE: Calendar not updating

    @sdetweil I think you are potentially right. For baikal I have followed such advice as here: https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/434/caldav/4?_=1704811423495 where it was advised just adding ?export to the end of the cal URL to generate the ics file, but it is not an actual ics link.
    I shall work along those lines…

  • RE: Calendar not updating

    @sdetweil Thanks. Done. No change :(

    Have you heard of others with this problem? No one else on this thread. I really appreciate your efforts, but don’t worry too much if it’s just me. Part of the fun with self-hosting calendars etc :)

  • RE: Calendar not updating

    I might have a go at spinning up another calendar server and see if the issue still exists there. This calendar is a newly self-hosted one so it could be an issue there (although the magicmirror is the only device having trouble with it).

    Thanks for the help still.

  • RE: Calendar not updating

    @sdetweil commenting maximumEntries just shows the default 10 entries, but still does not include recently created events that should show within those 10.

    Getting a git error (novice here, sorry):

    fatal: 'temp_branch' is not a commit and a branch 'tags/v2.24.0' cannot be created from it

    Although this issue existed before I upgraded to 2.26.0…

  • RE: Calendar not updating

    @sdetweil config now:

    {
                            module: "calendar",
                            header: "calendar",
                            position: "top_left",
                            config: {
                                    fetchInterval: 120000,
                                    timeFormat: 'absolute',
                                    maximumEntries: 5,
                                    broadcastPastEvents: false,
                                    calendars: [
                                            {
                                                    url: 'https://my.cal.url',
                                                    auth:   {
                                                            user: 'user',
                                                            pass: 'pass',
                                                            method: 'basic'
                                                            }
                                            }
                                            ],
                                    }
                    },

    No change. Still not displaying newly created events. :(

    Broadcasting 1000+ events, yes.

  • RE: Calendar not updating

    @sdetweil Not entirely sure what you mean here. This is a calendar that I own. It’s a locally hosted container service. Several devices read/write to it. It is a baikal server. I have seen several forum posts that suggest using the caldav URL adding ?export to the end to generate the ics file.
