    • RE: Having trouble with screen on and off? Here are some tips that could help

@mumblebaj Thank you for this tutorial.

I have been able to modify the MMM-Remote-Control config to use these commands for monitor on and off, and the command “/usr/bin/wlr-randr --output HDMI-A-1 --off” works in ssh terminal, however the log file shows the error “failed to connect to display” when running this as a cron job.

Would you have any insight as to what I could do? What would I need to provide in order for you to assist?

      I am on Wayland desktop

    • RE: Introduce yourself!

      Hello,

I know this is an old thread but I thought I would introduce myself anyway.

My name is Bryant and I run a YouTube channel called Reviews for Nerds where I talk about tech that I use in my everyday life. I stumbled across this project while looking for Raspberry Pi projects. I love to tinker and thought the idea of having a calendar hanging in the dining room that the entire family could see would be helpful.

Thanks to all the cool modules out there my simple calendar idea has morphed into a multi-slide display that shows guest wifi password QR Code, out Bring shopping list, local current weather and forecast, family calendar, news snippets, both my channel stats, and even a youtube channel dedicated to watching birds. This has been so fun I am contemplating creating a second Mirror for my office.

Thank you all for all of the hard work put into this. I have learned a lot over the time I have spent on this project and admire the effort and talent that has gone into creating this.

    • RE: Having trouble with screen on and off? Here are some tips that could help

Hello all and thank you for all the suggestions. I apologize as I never got followup notifications of your responses.

I ended up reverting back to the original desktop as I did not feel like fighting to change everything.

Again, thank you all for your time and help.
