    • RE: Voice Controlled Wake/Sleep Function

Hey guys I’m pretty new to this whole magic mirror thing. I don’t want my mirror on all the time so I wanted to turn the display on and off with my voice. This is the only post I could find trying to accomplish that. So once i get the Voice Control module from alexyak working, how do I get this to work? I’m confused as to where to put the files.

@Hawking Sorry to keep bothering you but I ended up making it work with the two commands you told me to do. Now my problem is when the Pi Zero W is booting it connects to the WiFi but when magic mirror boots the pi disconnects.

@Hawking My MagicMirror has been sitting for a long time. When I recently finished the frame to get the computer display and rpi zero out of my closet I booted the rpi zero and on the top of the display it said A New Version of Magic Mirror is available or something along those lines. So I went into the MagicMirror folder and used the command “git pull && npm install” as specified in the README file of MagicMirror.

@SebTota I went to my old image from before the update and thats still working fine, but when I updated it, it again had the error come up. The only difference is last time I did the update it said Error: Cannot find module ‘colors’

@Hawking I get an error saying that modules/color is missing or something like that. I’ve been working on it for 3 days but can’t get it to work.

Man I put the mirror in the closet for a little, came back to finally finish the frame and put it on the wall, updated it and more trouble. Oh gosh.

@Mar Not quite old enough to take you up on that offer yet. :) Really glad to hear that its working. Like I said if anyone needs the image of just the MagicMirror, MagicMirror with Alexa, and hopefully soon MagicMirror with Jasper AI just let me know and I can send you a link to my download.

@Mar I’ll send you the link to the mega file download. You will have to unzip it and write the ISO file onto your SD card. I also have a version that has amazon Alexa built in but that takes a little bit of setup.

@Mar it is an install or Raspbian lite with magic mirror for RPI zero. There is some other alterations but not much. Would you like me to share the file?

@Mar do you have access to a 16gb SD card or no? If not what size do you have/want to use.

@Mar you can’t just copy and paste the drive. Download win32diskimager and read the SD card to a new .ISO file on your pc

      Did anyone get

      https://github.com/HackerHouseYT/AI-Smart-Mirror

working on a pi zero. I know its made for a Mac but I`ve been trying somethings and cant succeed to replicate it on the Pi 0. People claim they got it working by following those instructions but im lost on how to install ffmpeg. If anyone got it working on the Pi 0 please share how.
