Fresh install on bookworm only works with X11 - which disables VNC...
-
@rkorell use the other start commands,
message posted and pinned in january in general section
-
@sdetweil :-)
OK good move…
But the startup-command is generated by your install-script, so this is the result of the “auto-start”…
In the meantime I’ve figured out that may X11 is - in priciple - may the better choice for me because I might remember that MMM-Pir ( :-) ) had issues with wayland in context of screen-off … -
@rkorell What i figured out as well is:
VNC viewer in this combination cannot work…So the right way to handle this is:
DISable VNC service in raspi-config (this is the wayland VNC) and ENable the X11 Real VNC server manually withsudo systemctl enable --now vncserver-x11-servicedReboot Pi and VNC works again.
So I now stick with the dark display …
Thanks & warm regards,
Ralf -
@rkorell Screen switching Off is now disappeared without any reason - did not change anything…
Screen darkness still there but may an issue with the modules I never used and this greyish is “normal” …

R rkorell has marked this topic as solved on

@rkorell i do not know how you disable screen blanking via script w labwc
-
@rkorell i will fix installer now that new start commands available
-
@sdetweil :-)
For me it’s currently fine!
All is working and wayland is not needed THAT much :-) -
@rkorell if you switched to x11 my screensaveroff script will work
-
@sdetweil cool - but had switched to X11 after installation.
But screensaver IS switched off (it seems to me that screensaver is switched off per default - never seen a screenserver on my pis … -
@rkorell i think it is ON by default , but will retest when i can
