How to halt execution of MM2

I just completed the installation and started MM2 using npm start. I was shocked when the default MM2 screen appeared! Totally shocked! But now how to I stop execution and get back a terminal window to start tinkering with the configuration?

Alt key should bring down a menu bar at the top of MM. You can exit MM there, minimize MM there and you can run your dev tools from there.

Also, you can do your tinkering in a text editor if you prefer that to doing it in the terminal. I find it much easier that way.
