I’m in the same situation. I have a 32" TV I wanted to use, but I cannot find any suitable controller board. I don’t want to use the original controller because it shows annyoing information on screen (no signal, input 1, …)

I contacted one of the companies on ebay and asked about support for my display. However I did not quite understand their response, they said it would be possible, but I need to learn more about power supply and such.
I stopped at that point but I need to pick it up later this year. If you make any progress, please let us know :)

Not sure but you’d think that there has to be a controller board for these LCD’s…

I just contacted “trustyhl” on ebay. No luck there.

@cowboysdude there is, it’s the main control board - why would there have to be anything else?

To avoid all the unnecessary crap the TV companies put in their ICs, which is usually worse than modern monitors. We are talking about stuff like all the smart-tv stuff, “no signal” messages and so on.

Thats why we want a barebones controller where we can slam the HDMI signal in and display it on the panel. And not much more.

@krautgamer But why would manufacturers benefit from producing them? The market is incredibly small for such a minor benefit

In fact it is not. There are lots of usecases to reuse displays and there are several companies on ebay (and alibaba and such) selling these controller boards. It is just lacking support for uncommon displays.
