    Hey guys!

    Super excited to get started with a Magic Mirror project. I don’t have the right gear yet, except for the Raspberry Pi 3 setup, but is it possible to access and edit the files in the Magic Mirror folder on a Windows laptop and SD-adapter?
    Thought I could try out the Google Assistant module and get it all sorted out on the laptop, and then just plug the SD-card into the Pi later on.

    I am aware that I need to somehow launch the linux platform on the SD-card, while stilll operating in windows, but I need some help getting there!

      Just a suggestion:

      Why not install Magic Mirror on your Windows machine?

        Why not just set up the pi to a external monitor?
        Then use filezilla and notepad++ for editing on the windows mashine

        else use just the browser on your windows mashine

          @Mykle1

          I don’t have a spare windows machine to run the mirror on, so I thought the Pi should do.
          But I see your point! I am currently a total beginner at this, so my understanding of how the systems are compatible with each other are fairly limited.

          @Lange
          The problem is that I don’t have a USB microphone for the Pi, so I thought about editing the Google Assistant module on the laptop and using the built in mic to do some testruns.

            Well, you don’t need a spare machine at all. You can install MM right on your existing Windows laptop without changing anything on the laptop other than the installation. You can do all your dev work and test runs there and it’s much faster than working on the Pi.

            I have a Pi in my first mirror, but I also have MM on my windows laptop and my Windows dev machine. I don’t do any of the actual work on the Pi at all. I’ll go out on a limb here and say you’ll be very happy if you install MM on your laptop. :^)

              My son uses Atom, but I swear by Notepad++
