Got everything today... Now about Touch...
-
Hey all,
Finally got everything together and all set up.
Got my RPI hooked up and set up, ready to install a Magic Mirror program.
Before I do that however, I want to get it all set up and perfect on my desktop, and then transfer it over to the RPI. So, where can I find a program that has touch?Only things I am really looking for are…
Time
Weather
Spotify player (if possible?)
Youtube
Facebook I guess?Spotify player is the only touch necessary thing… Play/Pause and next.
Is anything even close to this already set up and available for free?

@4Flat4Life Have you looked Spotify Connect UI made by myself at https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/468/mmm-spotifyconnectui?
It doesn’t have any touch UI, but instead let’s you connect Spotify on mobile/PC to your magic mirror…

And if you must have an actual physical touch, you can easily use a touch sensor with an rpi. I have one on my mirror at the moment that does nothing but fade everything out when touched, and back in when touched again. There are several kinds of multiple touch modules out there.

I have a touch screen monitor with the 1 way film. touch already works perfectly. all I did was plug in the usb cable and it works. I use touch to adjust some of the setup stuff on the stock RPI lol

Not what I’m looking for. but if all else fails I guess it would work.

Okay, so time for an update…
I have decided to use Conky (as of this moment at least)
But I am already running into issues… Mainly… How do I edit this damn thing??
I am extremely new to both programming, and RPI… So can someone help out with this?
All I want is the time and a spotify player… That’s it.
If the Spotify player has play/pause/next buttons, then my touch screen will work inherently to use them.

Go figure, this is actually a pretty shitty forum.
Figured it out a different way. Has touch, spotify player, time, date, etc etc etc.
Running Windows 7 Ultimate. Thanks for nothing.

@4Flat4Life You can’t spit your dummy out because, someone doesn’t know how to deal with your very specific request.
Do some research instead, or develop your own modules instead of expecting people to spoon feed you

“Shitty” because you are running a platform that is not supported. You are asking questions specific to your needs, that no one else knows about. It’s unsupported, you can’t expect anyone to give you a solution if they don’t have an answer for you.
If you want proper support, a) change your attitude, and b) read the documentation, specifically the part where it clearly states it’s designed to run on a Raspberri Pi version 2 or 3.
Reality is, this forum has a ton of people who are offering all kinds of support, in various areas.

Running Windows 7 Ultimate.Congratulations on figuring it out. I actually just saw the beginning of this thread was jumping in to help you until I read till the end.
I am personally sorry that I couldn’t get time until today to see this and help you out. I do not think this forum is the right place for you. Good luck and I really hope you have a better attitude in life than this.

Seriously? These people all have a life and jobs and school… they do this and help people because they are trying to share their knowledge and want to help others get their mirrors up and running by solving issues and writing modules so people can have the mirror that suites their needs.
No one is sitting here just waiting for you questions… sometimes they get answered quickly because someone that knows just happens to be here and sometimes they take a little bit… either way you should be grateful and not an ass.
I’m guessing you’re from the US [I am also] because this attitude of it’s all about me is old dude. This is why I love these guys most are from other countries and they are patient and nice.
I have a module because of the people here that took what I had and reworked it to work on this mirror and I am forever grateful that someone took their time to do that. I am very impressed. Because living here I am not used to that.
Go find someone who can and wants to just give you one on one attention the second you want it.
