You’re definitely off to a good start! I like the FLIR tool. I’m jealous. I don’t know why I would need one, but I want one now.

I notice that you took off the metal backing to your monitor. Did you have any concerns with that? I have to take the one off the mirror I’m building now because it kind of fell off during the bezel removal process. I haven’t done that before and I’m nervous I’ll short something.

@bhepler Yes I removed the shield to make it slimmer.
All the boards are 1cm above the LCD surface, I used some plastic spacers and I put an Electrical insulation paper above them.

I use the Flir thermocamera for testing the Broadcast Cameras that I sell, many cameraman complains about heat coming from cameras.

@qbox83 - Aha! I have a thin sheet of acrylic I can use as an insulation layer. I can then reposition the two boards of the monitor and position the Pi where I need it. Thanks!

                              1_1544439392549_IMG_5348.jpg

Hey I am Italian too and in need to find a solid frame solution for my 55" MagicMirror project.

Alluminium frames are a pain in the a** as no online national company builds them so big (not to mention local companies that don’t want to deal with that kind of requests…) so big so I went back thinking at wooden solutions.

Can you please tell me where can I buy that special sawing kit?
I like it alot and your project is coming out really well! :thumbs_up_medium-light_skin_tone:

                                Hi Antonio,
Sono uno sviluppatore italiano e da circa 6 mesi sto implementando la mia soluzione MIRROR 2.0 ampliata all’ambito italiano.
Saresti interessato a collaborare in quest’impresa?
Attualmente sto cercando di implementare il modulo legato alle api dei trasporti pubblici, un modulo per i comandi vocali con Alexa e un modulo per interfacciarsi con i veicoli Tesla.
                                Fammi sapere!!
                                Ciao!

                                Giuseppe

                                        FINISH.

I have to say that Acrylic sheet isn’t the best choice since it scratch too easily and it’s hard to clean without ruin it.
I will move to DIELETTRIC MIRROR
