Does MagicMirror work on Amlogic boards like the Odroid C2 and Le Potato?

@sdetweil - I considered that one, but I needed more USB ports. I’m running a USB microphone and a two-port USB extension to allow a plug-in mouse & keyboard on the frame.

      How’s the performance?

How about most trendy RK3399 things - Rock Pi 4 or NanoPi m4 ?
They have same form factor with RPI3, and have better GPU and RAM. They overwhelm RPI on Performance.

@bhepler performance is great!.. between 1.5 and 2 times faster than pi 3. It has 2 USB 3 ports and 1 USB 2 port… ethernet network built in (not wifi)

I am considerung buying an android TV box to run MM on. They are cheaper and - at least on paper - more performant than the RasPi (faster cores, more RAM, onboard storage). Those are generally Amlogic based.

Has anyone tried that before? All I found way other users asking but nobody seemed to tested it AND posted it here.

@sdetweil - Heh. In that case, I’d also need a USB WiFi adapter so I would be up to 4. I think they sell a Wifi/Bluetooth module that plugs into the board itself, but at that point it was pricier than the NanoPC (I think - My research was a week ago and I think that was my reason for going the way I did).

I have plans for another mirror this spring, so perhaps I’ll go your route if the NanoPC isn’t what I’m hoping.

@MadScientist - I have not. I was considering trying an Intel Compute Stick or equivalent. If I didn’t need a PIR sensor or camera, it might be a solid choice.

Back then I ordered an android TV box from China but it never arrived so I abandoned the idea. I also need a PIR in combination with a relay.

However, I am pretty sure you can run ARMbian from SD card on those boxes. There are plenty of websites and Youtube videos out there. I am confident it works but who knows. I’ll gladly test it once I get my hands on a cheap box.
