How to "halt" autostart for some time...?

Hi All,
this afternoon I made a fresh install on a new sd-card because I can’t remember were I left my first sd-card…:worried_face: … Luckly I have my config file saved to a usb drive before losing it…

So…now I have the latest MM2 version and it’s working just fine in “factory mode” but now I want to ad modules to it again… however I have said “Yes” to autostarting the mirror. And that is what it does…but when I press + after about 10 seconds MM2 is starting again. So I hardly can do anything without constanly having to closing the MM2 after 10 seconds :dizzy_face: :dizzy_face: :dizzy_face:

Can I pauze this autostart somehow? Or is there an other way to bypass it without disabling it completely and reinstalling it after I’m done (or is that just a simple command?)?
(I’ve disabled it before and couldn’t get it to run afterwards…:face_with_open_mouth_cold_sweat: :face_with_open_mouth_cold_sweat: …)

If you can get to the terminal quickly enough (before MM autostarts) you can type pm2 stop MagicMirror. This will quit MagicMirror without disabling autostarting. After you’ve done what you need to do you can then type pm2 start MagicMirror. This will launch MagicMirror and your autostarting will still be intact.

If MagicMirror is already running you can press your Alt key and get to your terminal that way. Then, do as described above.

I don’t exactly get what you’re saying, but I assume you’re not connecting through SSH with your mirror? Because when you connect through SSH, you come in the RPI shell and can configure your modules.

@htilburgs unfortunately not yet!
I made the fresh install her at work and the raspberry can’t acces the companies network ( I can see it but can’t select it) so I had to use the open network instead.
So I couldn’t set up SSH … and I didn’t thought of it either…:disappointed_but_relieved_face:
But I will do it at home… :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_smiling_eyes: :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_smiling_eyes: but in order to do that I need to have a clear acces to the system without MM2 constanly starting :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_smiling_eyes: :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_smiling_eyes:

On my lost sd-card I also had SSH working. I could acces it via Putty, JuiceSSH (android) and the Windows “Remote Desktop Connection”.

then i open a new terminal windows
