    Hello fellow smart mirror enthusiasts,

here is my smart mirror using MagicMirror!
I used the Ribba frame from Ikea, 50cm X 50cm mirror glass and an old 13.3" macbook display.

I also added a usb microphone and a script to turn the display off and on depending on the sound level. It’s a very basic setup with just calendar, weather and news but I really enjoy it this way!

Thanks! I used small screws to mount the boards on the backboard. The backboard is solid cardboard so it’s easy to drill the holes yet it’s solid enough to hold the boards.

Hi, this looks awesome. I really like the idea with the microphone sensor used to wake-up the mirror. Can you share the script that you used?

            Thanks a lot!

P.S. I am using the same frame for my mirror and the only stopper I have is how to wake it up on demand, so this would be much appreciated.

@n1xan Thanks a lot! You can download the scripts from here: https://blog.jonasmenk.de/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/audio_display_control.zip

Just run “python audio_display_control.py”. I run python 2.7 on raspbian.

Hi! It looks awesome! I’m planning to do something like that myself. Could you share some more pictures of it? I’m curious to see the quality of the glass from different angles :D

The mirror is a bit dirty as you can see in the last picture :)
