Hi, there is a new Alexa Module
-
Thanks! It would be helpful to understand what commands can be issued using voice to Amazon Echo devices / Alexa and what they do.
For instance if I say Alexa Turn off page one. Is that valid and what should I expect as a result?
If I say Alexa Show Notification 1 does that do anything and if so -what?The instructions dont really go into usage examples (if you know what I mean?)
Send tonight? Where are you located? Its 9:49 PM here presently LOL!

@Stoffbeuteluwe Thanks! The modules would be extremely helpful!

{ module: 'MMM-pages', config: { modules: [[ "clock", "currentweather", "weatherforecast", "MMM-MyCalendar", "MMM-Lunartic", "MMM-MyWastePickup", "MMM-xiaomi", "MMM-Todoist", "MMM-Sonos", "newsfeed", "compliments", "MMM-AlexaControl"], [ "clock", "MMM-RandomPhoto"], [ "MMM-EasyBack" ], [ "MMM-ImagesPhotos" ], [ "MMM-Globe" ], [ "MMM-WordClock" ], [ "MMM-EyeCandy" ], [ "MMM-EasyPix" ], [ "clock","MMM-MyScoreboard", "MMM-MyStandings"], [ "" ], ], fixed: [""], rotationTime:"0", } }, -
{ module: 'MMM-page-indicator', position: 'bottom_bar', config: { pages: 10, } }, -
@Stoffbeuteluwe Really appreciate the post! Everything appears to be working properly, but Alexa still does not detect my mirror. I have the 1st Gen Alexa, so its possible that is my issue. Thanks for all your help!
-
@Stoffbeuteluwe UPDATE: I purchased a new Alexa (Echo Dot) and I got everything working properly. Thanks again!
-
@Stoffbeuteluwe Thanks for posting your config settings! Everytime I enable the AlexaControl Module My DarkSkyWeather Forecase, Lunartic, and US Holidays dont load. They just indicate “Loading”. When I pull the AlexaControl section out of the config.js they load without issue.

@techcoderun perfect :slightly_smiling_face:
-
@BD0G open the developers window, ctrl-shift-i, select the console tab, and see if there are any errors
-
@sdetweil Still have not been able to open the Dev Console using Ctrl- Shift -i. :(
-
@techcoderun you just bought a new Dot and the mirror was detected?
-
@Fozi Yes, literally just the new dot. But I had literally had the first Alexa that came out a few years ago, so it might of had some issues.
-
@techcoderun That’s interesting. I am somewhat buffeled because even with the a the mirror isn’t detected.
-
@Fozi Agreed, no clue what fixed the problem. I tried @Stoffbeuteluwe’s config file with the old Alexa, no luck. I received my Dot a few hours later, plugged it in, and voilà, “I’ve discovered 18 new devices.” My guess is maybe some outdated WiFi related hardware on the 1st Gen Alexa?
-
@techcoderun As the cyberweek on Amazon comes closer and I need another Dot anyways, I‘m curious if I’ lol succeed, too.
-
@techcoderun
Suddenly my MM got detected on with my old Echo Dot Gen. 1 and without the installation of the other modules. I can‘t say why. Alexas feedback after scanning for new devices was misleading, too. She answers that no new devices were detected, but I found four new devices in the device list. Anyways, it seems to work and now I‘m thinking about a fitting use case for my needs. -
Hmm, Perhaps I need to revisit this module?
-
Now that everything is working, here is a video of this module in ACTION!
-
@techcoderun Thanks for the video, well done!
