thanks, still looking forward to seeing some decent photos of the film. most of the ones i have seen with film were nightmare-ish.
And thank god that you made it home from work finally notum ;) we were worried about you for a while!
-
Here you go, the quality isnt the best but hopefully good enough for you to get an idea what the result could look like. :)
-
@Notumlord cool, looks good except the small part at the top, there seem to be some bubbles, right?
-
@yawns Yep, those are some small bubbles

Hiya all! So, would there be somewhere in Stockholm where you can actually get hold of a proper mirror as I know I’d mess things up applying film (as by MDP) myself. I got a little bit of a large donor, two if the widest STAVE by IKEA so I’m sure tinkering with film is not an option. It would be ideal to be able to go and see it irl as well. Glass would prolly be to heavy for me I assume. /Gio

If someone is having troubles getting a proper mirror in Sweden, get to a local Glass-company and ask if they buy glass from Pilkington. If not, try another company.
If they do, get them to order the Pilkington Mirropane Chrome for you.
(https://www.pilkington.com/sv-se/se/produkter/funktionsomrade/specialglas/pilkington-mirropane-chrome#allmnt)I received mine a couple of days ago from the local glass-company (Nöjds glas i Åtvidaberg),
120cm x 60cm, 6mm thick. cost me 1500Sek (that would be around 150 Eur depending on the currency rate). It’s a 20x better mirror than the crappy foil I first ordered, I’m really happy with the glass.
Edit : Pilkington also has their MirroView glass with higher light transmission.
(The mirropane has 3%, the mirroview has 20% and 45% light transmission. 3% could be slightly dim in bright rooms) -
@broberg Any chance you could provide a couple of photos of your mirror? 3% sounds really low… Thanks for the tip
-
@MrH will try to get some pictures up tonight, yes 3% isn’t optimal, it works in the current room it’s in, but I’m afraid that it won’t be usable in the room it will be in when it’s finished. To late for me, but thats why I suggest the MirrowView also :)
-
@MrH
Sorry about the quality of the photo, but this is what it looks like in it’s current lighting condition, 3% mirropane in a medium lit room. (the screen is also not up against the glass since it just for you to see the light transmission)image url)

@broberg thanks! well that looks pretty good for 3%. My supplier has a 8% mirror and I didn’t think it would be enough but perhaps I should give it a try :)
