Hey @Lobsta, the film wasn’t very hard to apply to glass. Took me, doing it for the first time, about 20 minutes and it didn’t look too horrible.

Images are not working well on this forum hey - tried to upload them again but no luck…

I’ve today finished the woodwork, with a lot of help from a friend that is experienced in weekend-woodwork. I don’t think it was any harder with glass than it would have been with acrylic. Certainly heavier though. I suspect the film would just as well with acrylic…

@tgriffo are you able to send me some photos or try posting them again?
I’m trying to decide if the quality is good enough with the film or if I should drop the $220 for glass mirror.

@tgriffo Thanks, I can see them now. It looks better than I thought a film would actually.

I bought this film the other day, should have it this week.

Apparently they use it in dance studios etc where mirror is too expensive so i’m hoping it works quite well. I’ll be sure to post the results.

I thought Id share a list of Australian glass suppliers that appear to supply one-way mirror glass (I am sure there are lots more, but this is what I found in Google).

FYI I have emailed a couple and are yet to hear back, but YMMV. If they receive multiple enquiries they may be more likely to start supplying this type of glass in the small sizes required for smart mirrors.

Seems I cant paste the full list here - keeps getting flagged as spam.

                  Hi Guys,

I’m gathering all the hardware items, and I’m sourcing 2 way mirror but it seem like they not an easy type mirror to get, anyone here has completed their project with 2 way mirror that they managed to get in Australia? I’m from Canberra.

@bellroy Like many others on this thread, I’m currently stuck on the 2 way mirror part. I’ve hit up a few local places with no luck, thinking of trying the Bunnings option mentioned above. If you do find a place that isn’t exorbitant in price, please be sure to let us know!

These guys are in China but have free shipping to Aust. They do have min order quantities. I got three 300x300x1mm sheets for just over $20. Biggest they have is 1200x600x1mm and six of those would be just under $300, free shipping.
