Yay! I will take a look.

I have a module which displays next two tides, time and height, from the WeatherUnderground, but its not ready for primetime (haven’t got the refresh timing working the way I want). Maybe this will mean I don’t have to.

Another method that I used for tides is to install Xtide, and use a cron job to output the predictions into a .ics file, then use the calendar module to display. The advantage to this method is that there is no registration with any service (the tide prediction software is installed and runs locally). Xtide can be downloaded from here: https://flaterco.com/xtide. The calendar module has “anchor” icons, which gives the display a nice touch. Xtide can also output to a variety of different formats, including a nice looking .jpg graph (with lots of config options), which can also be displayed. There were a couple of quirks to overcome to make this work (including where the .ics & .jpg output files need to be saved to), but I like results. Once set up, many different locations are easily added or modified.

It seems like various providers have changed the provision of tidal data which has messed with various plugins - worldtides no longer offering free data, wunderground require a PWS to name 2 sources. On the flip side some places are offering free data - the UK admiralty for instance, and tidetimes.org.uk seem to have an RSS feed freely available.

What are people using for their tide data at the moment?

can you explain to me simply how you did it because I am a beginner and do not know how to code ?
                Thank you.

@Area-49 this is a really simple and elegant way to display the tides. I couldnt help but notice the name as well, im looking for a tide chart for my relatives on the Kenai in Alaska who fish Halibut. Can you provide any guidance on the cron job code and how/where you downloaded/hosted the xtides? thanks
