I tried to do your steps, I can see the synology connecting but then I got the error:

electron: Failed to load URL: with error: ERR_BLOCKED_BY_RESPONSE

Any idea how to fix this? Thanks in advance!

@AnyKey try to change the port which is used by Magicmirror. The Diskstation seems to use port 8080 for something else.
