      hello dear users,

In my shop () I sell various mirrors for smart mirrors. Here is my question from all experienced users:
which mirror do you really prefer for an MM?

      thank you for your answer

        Hello,
today i ordered mirror for my project with an 32" Monitor.

Do you have some advises for monitors? Im struggling if i should use an PC-Monitor or an TV-Device.

Hi, I have not assembled yet my mirror but I started by buying this 32" monitor:
          ViewSonic VX3276-MHD-2 Design Monitor, 80 cm/32 Inch
          https://www.amazon.nl/gp/product/B0787WGCXT
It seems to be a good fit to make a 32" mirror because it’s a thin monitor and there is no bezel just an aluminum bar at the bottom which can be easily detached via some screws.
With this monitor it will be rather easy to place a mirror directly against the monitor (i,e without gap).

@CharlesMougenot thank you, im looking forward to see how you proceed. im also still looking for a monitor. im also thinking building it with an TV instead of an “PC Monitor”, because of the remote-control and the possibility to have sound.

Just be aware that TVs usually dont have good black values. You are looking for a contrast of at least 3000:1 if i remember correctly.
If the contrast is lower, you will see an outline of the screen. One way to get around this is to make the whole mirror the size of the TV.

                Thank you for the reply.
Yes - im aware of this. Im planning to have an 32" Mirror and Screen.

But i already ordered the ViewSonic VX3276-MHD-2 in used condition on ebay.
Also i ordered an 32" IR-Frame from China, which will arrive in a few days.

@marcwa19197 Thank you for the advice about mirror provider. I looked at several venders and it appears that the one you suggested brigla-shop.de has the best price. I just needed to use google translate.
I have also purchased an IR-module 32" from Aliexpress and it works great with the module MMM-Touch. It can detect multiples fingers.
It seems that we will have exactly the same mirror.

@CharlesMougenot Hi, today my IR-Frame from china arrived. I did not tested it yet, but it looks like good quality and Metal frame. Also buyed on aliexpress :)
The glass should be delivered today, i ordered it a bit bigger than normal 32" (71,8cm x 40,8cm). I will report how the glass will look, if you not already buyed. If you need help in translating, just send me an PM.

Do you also want to build it with an RPI4 and Camera for face-detection?
Im still thinking how i will build the frame around the monitor and build everything together.

Thank to propose your help to translate. I have ordered a mirror 41.1x71.3 and I took a RPI4 and a microphone. I planned to use this mirror in my bathroom. I don’t want to place a camera because my guests will not like to be recorded in the bathroom. So it will react to voice command and touch. I’m also wondering how to make a frame. For that I will put silicon around the edges to avoid humidity between both the monitor and the mirror. After I will print 3D part to old the monitor and the glass together. The printed part will also extend the width and height to the one of the IR frame. That way I will use silicon to attach the frame to the printed part. That way I will see only the IR frame around the mirror. I hope it will work.
To attach it to the wall I ordered this par.
                      https://www.amazon.nl/gp/product/B07FP39N8J
I’m wondering if it will be strong enough but at least it seems very flat. Otherwise you cna select any system ‘vesa 100x100’
