        Won’t even the clock reset to some dummy value? The raspberry does not have a realtime clock and does not know date and time once power was removed.
        It uses NTP to update its clock

            You could, but that won’t change anything, because you still need to make sure it connects to the wifi around.
            Or are you talking about a wireless wan (umts/3g) stick?

                I never set up one of these on a raspberry, but that should work if reception is good.

                  why not connect it to your own network first and when ready just connect it to hers ?

                      @cianoo45 Hmm, Okey, so you want it to connect right out of the box. Then I guess a 3g/4g modem would do the trick (unless it acts up and lacks signal at her place).

                      but when configuring and assembling your mirror just use your own network to start with.

                      If I were you I would get someone to configure the wifi on the pi for her when it has arrived.

                        @cianoo45

                        That is actually one of the use case i am covering with my app and BLE module:

                        https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/1497/magicmirrorapp/2

                        One of the features is, that you can connect a MagicMirror to a wifi network over bluetooth.
                        Only downside is, that there is currently only an app for Android and not for IOS or Windows Phone (i currently have neither, so can’t develop one in the near future).
