I received my $9 C.H.I.P. computer today, with the HDMI module that I added to the Kickstarter campaign. So naturally, I wanted to see if it would run MM. Being that it runs Debian, I figured why not.

      The positives:
      Hardware is ARM7l …
      Installing node v6+: no problem.
Installing the necessary node modules: no problem
      Installing electron: no issues

The negative: Electron won’t run. It’s saying it’s missing one of the prebuilt files. I need to figure out what that is and why. But, it DOES run as a server only setup. I can load it up just fine through a browser. This is actually kinda fun for a tiny little thing. And I do mean tiny, it’s smaller than a Raspberry Pi.

A Life? Cool! Where can I download one of those from?

No, it’s not something I’m actively doing. It was more of a fun evening thing and that’s it. I have other things I need to be doing.

I ran the manual install and once you’ve installed whatever it is to make it recognise npm it installed fine.

I then installed the declutter function to get rid of the curser and followed the auto start instructions and seemingly it all works well with a couple of issues:

            • i’m running through composite so it is very cluttered in terms of resolution

            • i can seem to stop CHIP from blanking out after 10 mins

i’m running the most recent GUI for CHIP, so yes it does work but it’ll need some playing around with to make it look nice.

The blanking out is the screen saver kicking in, I think. You should be able to disable that. I’d have to go back and load mine up to see what I did, but I do remember running it for a while without it blanking out on me.

I dug up the CHIP that was sitting and collecting dust to see if I can run MM on it. It was almost successful. I documented my installation and setup path here https://gist.github.com/morozgrafix/db069203ac4d8635a0f27e3dfa52f532

@morozgrafix sick! Can’t wait to try this out tonight. I’ve been trying to run MM on the chip for a bit now

@simongaviria1 there are still a few limitations that I haven’t solved. It was more of an experiment to see if it would run.
