      After the release of the voice module(s), I think it’s time to pick up a microphone

      Can anyone recommend one?

      What should I be looking for, something with an on board sound card?

      @strawberry-3-141 , @ronny3050 & @alexyak - What are you guys using?

        This is what I use: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IR8R7WQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

        It works absolutely fantastic.

          @ronny3050 That’s incredible!

          I thought it was going to be something bigger!

          What’s it like for picking up sound from within the frame?

            @Mitchfarino I love that it’s so small and doesn’t bulk up the mirror. It picks my voice throughout the room and it works very well (at least with the module I am working with). I am very happy with it and I don’t remember any false positives in regards to voice recognition till now. Also note that it is buried very deep inside the frame.

              This. Amazon used this mic in their guide to the alexa pi as well.
              I ordered mine last week hasn’t arrived yet.

                @ronny3050 @d3r - It’s £11 in the UK, bit of a difference to the US price

                  Is this the same one?

                  This is the exact one you guys shared - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Kinobo-Microphone-Desktop-Recognition-Software/dp/B00IR8R7WQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1471042843&sr=8-1&keywords=Kinobo+-+USB+2.0+Mini+Microphone

                  Or this will allow me to have the mic outside of the frame - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Kobwa-Desktop-Studio-Microphone-Keyring/dp/B00LHNP5GS/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1471043655&sr=8-5&keywords=USB+2.0+Mini+Microphone

                    Woah that’s expensive compared to the amazon.com one. I’m in Canada and ordered mine from amazon us because it had a guaranteed delivered of 2 weeks after purchase. Mine cost about $5.
                    Edit: I think the one sold by freedi on amazon us ships worldwide. It ships from hong kong.

                      @Mitchfarino seems to me that the Demarkt one is the same, along with a couple of others as well. It’s literally the same one sold by different vendors.
