According to Stackoverflow the xml service is discontinued and is now using JSON for the 2018 season. Here’s the JSON file http://www.nfl.com/liveupdate/scores/scores.json

Just noticed that someone replied with an AJAX version that appeared to have the same output as the XML file. I plugged it in to the node_helper.js file and it works!

        Here’s the AJAX version http://www.nfl.com/ajax/scorestrip?season=2018&seasonType=REG&week=1

          @gama

Could you explain how you 'plugged it into the node_helper.js file?
          I would greatly appreciate it!

          TIA!!!

@gama the problem with this link is, that you need to change it every week. In order to work automatically you need to create a logic to change the week and seasontype and year automatically.

I previously tried to create a logic just to determine if it is regular or post season and the mirrors of the peaople started going crazy flickering regular and post season.

nfl updated the data source and is now on week 2 season 2018. so it should work now again as expected.

I’m sick of changing the data source for every season and of course this year it happened again. I’m open to discuss new data sources. The data source ideally should have the following features:

                  • free
                  • JSON REST API
                  • one data feed, no switching between regular and postseason. this was always a big pain with the old API

                  The data should contain:

                  • score
                  • home team
                  • visitor team
                  • date
                  • time
                  • game status: 1ST_QUARTER, 2ND_QUARTER, 3RD_QUARTER, 4TH_QUARTER, HALF_TIME, OVER_TIME, FINAL, FINAL_OVERTIME, TIE, UPCOMING

Please create a github issue if you need help, so I can keep track

Is there a way to have player statistics without using voice, Just have it there full time? If game day scores is on the left side maybe have the stats on the right side?

This is a great module though.

@Dropzone1969 Not without rewriting the module.
