Sync private iCloud calendar with MagicMirror

@Beh Everything works fine until I’ll try to save the config file:

~/.vdirsyncer/config directory cannot be found
Once I manuals create directories I also save config file as config.cfg and also tried config.config and save
I haven’t filled in collections = [“HERE-GOES-THE-UUID-OF-THE-CALENDAR-YOU-WANT-TO-SYNC”] in conf. Could this make it crash?
Running curl for timer ok.
5.Then when vdirsyncer discover nothing happens I get Errno 21 and that’s where I get stuck…

Really wonder what might be the issues here?

The file is named config. It‘s not a directory, it‘s the name of the file. (No ending).

@ganther so if I put config in ~/.vdirsyncer/config it should work?
I think I did try it but somehow wansn’t able to read it as a file nor save and getting empty file and no result forward…

Yes. Just type these commands as given:

touch ~/.vdirsyncer/config
nano ~/.vdirsyncer/config

Two run two calendars, would I need to adjust config.js file as well?

@Beh I had no problem adding several modules of same kind and several .ics files in Calendars…however it doesn’t seem to sync or retrieve anything…only says no upcomming events :/

Is your ics-file in modules/calendars also 0kb?

Doesn’t seem like they are empty in KB. However the first file has rw–r–r-- and the others only rw------ don’t know if these permissions affects the none fetching of data

@maestro82 So I was able to get through the tutorial with no errors, all files discovered and synced. But when I run MagicMirror calendar says “Loading…” and never loads. I have changed interval to 5min in timer file. Any advise to troubleshoot?

Solved this issue by using “http:” not “https:” in calendar url but now my calendar shows no events. I looked into the actual “modules/calendars/****.ics” file and it contains multiple events. Any suggestions?

Did you check your calendar-url in conf/config.js?

My calendar is running now correctly. Don‘t know why but now my ics-file isn‘t empty anymore.

So . . . . . . restarted the mirror and now it works. Moving on to adding other calendars, wish us luck.

So I have three separate calendars linked to ical, running on my magic mirror. I see events from all three calendars, but many events are missing. Any ideas?

You are probably limiting the number of calendar items shown in your calendar config. (IDK what is the default, but perhaps only 10-15 which for 3 cals can be easily overloaded.)

I have several reoccurring events on the same day, only one of each event is showing up. The number of events is set at 10 but it is going out at least 4 months with that set. It should only go out about 3 weeks with 10 events listed. I’ll try raising the number of events and limiting the time.
