Don’t know what is turning the strength bars into a white color

There are four images (white) used for the strength. You can find them in the sub-folder ‘images’.

Great Module. Does it monitor the speed of my internet from my modem or the speed that my raspberry pi is reaching? Is there a way to maintain a log of speeds?

@illskool Thank you. It is the speed that your pi is reaching.
I am currently logging the speed and it can be found in your mirror’s logs by typing pm2 logs in the command line. I am removing this in my next update due to the massive amounts of logs produced. You can set an updateInterval for the mirror to refresh and update the speed if needed.

@ronny3050 Thank you for the quick response and for the work you did to create this module. I think its fantastic that I can glance at the mirror and see what speeds I am getting. On a side note, do you think it is possible to display the speeds that the modem receives? I would love to show that and then be able to keep a log. That way I could show my ISP whats up with their lying lol

@illskool haha, I am not aware of any way to get your exact modem speeds, but you can connect through LAN to get the closest modem speed ;)

@pjkoeleman @Advokaten customizable WiFi symbol is updated on github. Unfortunately, I could not test on my Mirror yet (especially the animations). I would greatly appreciate any feedback :D

Thanks for your work in updating the module, but I now have a black screen with nothing on it.
Here is my part of config.js what I’am using.

I have nothing in custom.css regarding internet-monitor.
When I start with npm start dev, I see one error in the panel, this is the following;

Personaly I think animated gif’s are a bit to much, change them back to PNG-files with the option to color them.

@pjkoeleman Oops, forgot to remove convert.js from the script. Should work now.

The color option is currently part of the config, mostly because editing the css will take quite a bit of work as a lot of classes/places need to be updated, so I thought of just having a variable inside the config.

Animation can be turned off in the config in my next update, but I would like to hear your feedback currently.

@fischi87 not exactly sure I understand your question. If you mean you would like to monitor the internet speed on another device (not a mirror), you can visit speednet and you should get similar results.

Just installed the latest update and it’s running like an well-oiled machine.

One question I still have and can’t find an solution for. I have the internet-monitor in te ‘bottom_right’ location and added the following to my custom.css

Now it looks like this;

How can I give it a little right-margin so it lines out to the right side of my screen, now its a little to much to the right.

Already tried margin-left an padding but no one is giving me the result I want.

In the code for your custom.css, try to change position from absolute to relative.

When I do that, that gives not the result I’am looking for. With the following code in the custom.css

position: relative;
float: right;
margin-top: 5px;
margin-right: 5px;

It gives me the following on my screen

Much lower and to the left. Now your guess is as good as mine !

I have been testing for some time and found a solution !
My custom.css looks like this now

The result on the screen looks like this

Now it looks like this I took out the header of Internet-monitor, now it belongs to the header with my status. Didn’t now negative numbers in margins were also possible till I tested it.

@pjkoeleman That’s correct since you float it to right, but then half of the symbol will be out of bounds on the right, so you can indeed use negative margin-right. :)

Thanks for the great module. I can see that it will be a fine product once I have one little issue sorted.

The verbose display shows that the speed test is always referencing one specific server in China (not in my home country) and as such the meter readings are showing at 1/10th of what a manual speed test shows (using ookla to a local server in another browser).

Is there any way to specify the server in use or at least limit the servers to a local list or “geofence”?
