Is there a way to have videos play as well?
-
First, thanks for a great module. Its greatly appreciated.
Is there a way to prevent API requests during certain time periods? I have 14000 photos in an album that is only going to grow with time which is going to kill my API requests but I don’t need requests to take place at 2AM for instance.

@orayoflighto do u put your mirror to sleep when u are not around? it should not fetch new images while mirror is asleep…
-
@sdetweil @orayoflighto
I’ll update(or build newly) about it on next patch. -
@Sean looking forward to it. Thanks again for an awesome module.
@sdetweil I now have a cron job to turn the monitor off. Is that what you mean by “sleep”? Does that stop the API requests?
-
@orayoflighto sadly no. The MagicMirror code doesn’t know the screen is off
-
@Sean I don’t know how you keep your patients with all of us. I’m using many of your modules, so thanks for your contribution to the masses.
Has anyone noticed that when you sort with “time” that it pulls photos from google in the order in which each photo was uploaded, and not the order you put them in the album.
I have 12 pictures in my album that I have put in order to represent each calendar month. Is there a way to force the module to sort according the album order, and not time?
-
@Bestboy4
Sorry, there is no key to sort that way in API. The only values could be used for sorting wascreationTime
. -
@Sean I was afraid of that. Thanks for the reply.

@Sean Sorry to keep kicking a dead horse, but if the API gives access to the creationTime, then can one create a short script to to show a particular photo for a particular date? Like, when in the month of December, only show me photos with a time stamp of 12/**/****.
Here is what I am getting at; I can edit the time stamp on each photo to reorganize in google photos. However, if there is a power glitch, and my Rpi resets, then the photos will start over at the beginning of the photo album. Normally this wouldn’t be a big deal if I were to use my MM as just a photo frame. However I suspect that I’m like most people, and am displaying our family calendar as well (kudos for the CalendarExt BTW). Having the photos coincide with the what time of the year it is would be very beneficial. For instance I wouldn’t want snow scenes to be displayed in the middle of July (unless I am in Australia, :-P ). So far there doesn’t seem to be a module like that.
