I’m going to order the dht-22 soon. I was reading about the sensor set up and most guides mention using a resistor. Do you guys have one in your set up?

I like the earth globe in the middle.
Can you please tell me which module it is and what it does?
      Thanks

    • RE: Amazon Echo/Alexa

I think there is a confusion about the time limit. Alexa pi comes with 2 wake word engines, Sensory and kitt.ai. Sensory will expire in at least 120 days and will need to be re setup but but the kitt.ai engine doesn’t seem to have a time limit. Kitt.ai is free for personal use but needs to be licensed when used commercial.

@carteblanche [https://groups.google.com/a/kitt.ai/forum/m/#!topic/snowboy-discussion/UIX2eK4ScjI](Recompile for custom wake word)
You need to create your own voice model and recompile the code. Check the above link. It is pretty straight foward though I found that I get lots of false hits but that’s because my model number doesn’t have a lot of samples.

It is possible to tell alexa to execute the codes. There are several projects using aws lamda to process the codes. This guy for example did it with his mirror.

@darrene I would say press D to see what the difference is then you’ll have a better idea on how to proceed.
      Edit:
I just ran an update on my pi and got the same prompt. lightdm is a display manager and not directly related to alexa.

    • RE: mp3 play , notification function and bluetooth

There’s a module called mm-music-player see here that you can use to achieve this. Then check out the raspberry pi website to connect your bluetooth speaker to your pi.
There’s no current bluetooth module the mm2.

@cowboysdude Hey, what’s the issue you have with the bluetooth speaker?
Mine used to work fine then stopped working after one of the updates. Mine will only play for a bit then stop playing while still staying connected.
