RE: monitor - disassemble or not?
@thedoorsfanatic Try to find a guide on youtube on how to disassemble a benq monitor. I just googled for “disassebmle benq monitor” and found a few videos on yt. Maybe your model is amongst them.

RE: MagicMirror project for sister
You‘re sister will love you forever! Absolutely gorgeous job! I‘d be interested in the script for presence detection. Any GitHub link you can provide?

@lavolp3 that‘s really cool! My girls here would rather prefer WeatherGirls😁. Maybe a feature for an update?

RE: New Magic Mirror with motion detection = ToF?
@MilkShake My Plan was to install Awsome Alexa on the Pi, but as the mic didn‘t work I went the ghetto route and plugged my Echo Dot into one of the USB ports. The USB port powers the Dot and that’s it. I can now use Alexa as usual and installed MMM-AlexaControl to control the mirror. Just works. For audio output, e.g. for YouTube, I use the built-in speakers of the monitor panel. They don‘t sound that great (2W output) but it’s ok for me because I don’t need to run the mirror as a full blown audio system.

You could use a microwave sensor (see link in my signature).
My experience with usb mic behind the mirror was really bad. It hardly picked up my voice. -
RE: MMM-NokiaHealth (Withings)
@Bouba830 try this https://github.com/kodymallory/MMM-withing. This module works. It can be a bit tricky to receive the token (step 7-9 in the installation description) as it has be done within 30 seconds, but keep repeating.

@AidenB have you tried Chrome for iOS?

RE: Drrrrums, please! My first MagicMirror.
@secdude as well as me and my wife were both happy with the Glas. Daylight conditions of course vary from day to day and even from hour to hour, so you will never have always the same viewing experience. Sometimes, when we have really bright daylight, I have to get a bit closer to read the mirror. But tjis Happens very seldomly.

RE: Bathroom Magic Mirror
@otto I put a microwave sensor behind the Glas and it works reliably. You can find my tutorial if you follow the link in my signature.

RE: Magic Mirror From Paris
@bastos5 you should make up your bed first!..just kidding…😄. Beautiful work, I like the frame! Maybe you upgrade the PIR sensor to a microwave sensor (see link in my signature) behind the mirror. These PIR warts destroy the beauty of each frame. Keep on that great work!

RE: Finally, my first mirror is complete!
Very nice and clean design! I love that sort of simplicity. I went the same route regarding the frame, but had to use two ready-made RIBBA frames, as I have no facility to build it myself. A Glas mirror is definitely the next upgrade you should consider. It really makes a significant difference. Maybe you could also try to move the power plug inside the frame to hide the massive cable shaft, which goes into the mirror plug. Or cut and strip the cable plug and wire it directly inside the frame, with a white cord of course.

RE: MMM-ModuleScheduler - Module Schedules and Notifications
@bachoo786 I had the same issue with MMM-googlemaps-route. The module was switched on at the defined time, but the map was not updated, only the travel times. Unfortunately, I had to find turn off the scheduler, but found a workaround for the route module to reduce the number of API calls.

@Stoffbeuteluwe bei mir gibt es keine Probleme mit den icons, da wird alles korrekt angezeigt. Allerdings benutze ich kein Wallpaper.

RE: Frameless Bathroom Mirror - Part 1: Software and Preparations
That‘s a really cool sneak preview. I like the maps integration with iFrame and will give it a try on my mirror. Looking forward to seeing the finished build.
