  • RE: ipWhitelist HowTo

    @lavolp3

Thanks for the quick response. I’m not sure if I just overlooked it or if I’m just exhausted from trying to figure this issue out for the past several hours, but either way your tip solved my problem. I thank you very much.

I’ve been working on a new project to stream a camera I have setup on another raspberry pi on my local network to the magic mirror. My oil tank is under my house in a crawl space and I’m tired of making the crawl every couple of weeks to see how much oil I have left. I was able to use an infrared camera to stream the video and display it on the mirror using Iframe. I didn’t want it to be visible on the mirror unless I wanted to do a quick check and thats when I realized that the remote module would solve my issue but I couldn’t access it. You have helped finish my project. I can now go to sleep:)

    Cheers

  • RE: ipWhitelist HowTo

Hello All. I recently upgraded my magic mirror and no matter what changes I make I can’t get ipwhitelist to work. I have searched the forums and every suggestion I have come across hasn’t rectified my issue. I had it working just fine prior to the upgrade. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Illskool

  • RE: Internet Monitor

@ronny3050 Thank you for the quick response and for the work you did to create this module. I think its fantastic that I can glance at the mirror and see what speeds I am getting. On a side note, do you think it is possible to display the speeds that the modem receives? I would love to show that and then be able to keep a log. That way I could show my ISP whats up with their lying lol

Great Module. Does it monitor the speed of my internet from my modem or the speed that my raspberry pi is reaching? Is there a way to maintain a log of speeds?

  • Basic Countdown module

Hello All. I am looking for a simple countdown module. I am getting married and the Fiance keeps asking me to add a module that displays how many days left until the wedding. I have searched the forums but I haven’t been able to find anything. Well I did find the advent module but I’m not interested in a religious candle. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • RE: PIR-Sensor - put your mirror to sleep if not used

@Bangee Thanks for the assistance. I tried that link along with a couple of other suggestions that I came across from the forums but nothing worked. I went and ordered a new PIR sensor as a last resort and bam worked once I plugged it in. This is a great module. Its really going to save me some money in energy costs and increase the life of my MagicMirror Monitor.

  • RE: PIR-Sensor - put your mirror to sleep if not used

    Hello,
1st off I’m a total noob at coding so please forgive me. I have been able to set up my mirror and get several modules up and running. However, I am having quite a bit of difficulty with the PIR-Sensor. I have it wired directly to the GPIO(pins 2, 6, 15). I installed the MMM-PIR-Sensor via paviros instruction. At first I got the white screen. Somehow that issue is gone. Now I can’t get the module to work. I know the PIR sensor is working, because I am able to run a python script to detect motion. The script just keeps in running though even when I walk away from the sensor. Maybe the sensor is faulty?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance
