  • RE: MagicMirror with Echo Dot

@bhepler Hey Bhepler, thanks for your reply. I think I’m just going to use the Alexa module which I have installed and (almost) have working - I have an echo dot lying around which I thought I might be able to plug into the RPi as the speaker/microphone! Thanks

  • Stripping down 32inch TV

    Hey guys,

I have finally got the RPi up and running with all the modules I want for my mirror. The next stage is finding and disassembling a 32 inch TV so that I can have a full length mirror. Does anyone have experience with this? I am looking at getting a cheap 2nd hand from Gumtree or similar (I’m in Australia) but wondered if anyone had a guide for stripping a TV?

I’m worried as I have 0 electrical knowledge and am a little worried about an electric shock or something…

    Thanks in advance guys!

@cowboysdude Awesome thanks for the input. I have 0 coding experience or experience with Pi at all, and it seems the easiest way to go. I will be using the Mirror for very basic things - most likely weather/time/date, spotify/music feed and later adding the alexa component… But then looking through your modules I guess I would end up wanting to get more interesting once I’ve learnt the basics…

    Hi guys,

New to the forum! I’ve seen the A+ but noted a couple of the changes. As per the OP, has anyone actually made a MM with the new A+ yet? I understand in principle it should work but I’d be devestated if it didn’t in the end!

    Thanks guys
