@mykle1
Okay, Thanks for the answers.
Will order a few fans from Aliexpress sometime soon. No rush.
First I want to have the software part ready.

RE: adding fans for airflow?
@Mykle1 : and did you connect the fan to the wallsocket or to the raspberry pi?
If it’s to the pi… what pins did you use?
And how much amp can they handle?
I’d like to ad 2 fans (1 in the bottom and 1 in the top of the frame) and have them draw power from the raspberry pi.
I have a 5v 3amp power supply for my pi 3B+. -
RE: Raspberry Pi 3 b+ and Magic Mirror
It works!
I’ve got my pi 3B+ today and installed the magicmirror software right away…and it works right out of the box! -
RE: Should I put acrylic mirror behind glass?
I just started working on my firts magicmirror
And like everybody thought of making a frame with an glas 2-way mirror or an acrylic piece with folie over it.
Bot tonight I thought: “Way not putting the folie right over te monitor?”
That would eliminate the glas or acrylic part. -
adding fans for airflow?
Hi all,
Today I’ve recieved my Pi 3B+ and right away I’ve installed the MagicMirror software on it!
And it works!!! Yeah!!!
So now to set it up…but that’s going to be okay. What I noticed is that the heatsink I’ve put on the Pi’s core is getting “hot/warm”.So… my question: would it be usefull to ad a 5v 0.2amp fan in the bottom and top of the frame of the MagicMirror to have an airflow through the frame?

RE: will this work on the new Pi 3B+??
Thanks for the links.
I recieved my 3B+ today and installed Rasbian, updated it and then installed the MagicMirror software via the installer (not manual).
And it works!!! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:Only thing is the wifi… it’s not on in rasbian. So need to sort that out.
Also need to figure out how to keep the screen from going black. Perhaps it’s the screensaver. Need to read up on that. And then… The fun part starts: adding modules!
Love to add the facial recognition and voice commands to open and close modules per account/person.So…like I said: got some reading to do. :face_with_stuck-out_tongue_winking_eye:

😁 Now that’s what I wanted to hear!
Going to order the pi3B+ tomorrow here in the Netherlands.
I’ve got some WIKI reading to do I guess! -
will this work on the new Pi 3B+??
Hi all,
I’m new here and have an Pi 2B hooked up to the 7" pi touchscreen. Somehow I lost my wifi dongel and face a choise: by a new dongel and use the pi 2B for smart mirror or keep that and by the new Pi 3B+ with build-in wifi and bluetooth. So I don’t need the dongel and can use that money for the new Pi.
BUT…(and this has been asked her before but there were no yes or no answers… only links to the Pi 3B) will the smartmirror software work on the Pi 3B+???
I’ve read somewere that you need other software for the pi 3B+.
