    • RE: MMM-rainfc wouldn't start/show

      @lavolp3 That’s a good one!
      I’ll check tonight when I get home. I Also noticed that when I start the MagicMirror v2.5.0 and it’s loading the config and module helpers. It says: “No helper found for module: MMM-rainfc.”

      And for my understanding: all the modules are just ONE folder in the Modules folder right?
      And the config.js file starts them with the ( optional) provided settings.
      So when I want to try and afterwards remove a module I can simply remove the entry from the config.js and delete the module folder?

    • MMM-rainfc wouldn't start/show

      Hi everybody,

      I have a problem with the module MMM-rainfc from 73cirdan.
      I have cloned the module to the /MagicMirror folder and changed the config.js file…yet for some reason the module wouldn’t show when I start MM2.
      It’s located top_right but it’s not showing.
      I have had other modules that for some reason did not show and I removed them because I thought I did something wrong during “installation”.

      But I realy would like to know how to fix this.

      Kind regards,
      Mike

    • RE: Anyone else experiencing issues after updating Raspbian (black screen and wifi dropping)

      @yep_DD
      Hi There Stephan, I have the same problem with the black screen.
      After start the MM runs for some time and then it just goes to a black screen.

      I added the 3 lines to the autostart file and checked if the timeout and prefer blanking are set to 0 and no… and they are!
      I’m running MM2 this moment on a 24" screen to see if it stays on.
      I’ll let it run for some time. Hope it stays on!

      THANKS for the tutorial.

      Kind regards Mike

    • RE: Why keeps MM2 starting even when I've pressed ctrl+Q?

      @sdetweil: I’m just starting with a raspberry pi (well… I have Domoticz running on a Pi zero W to check my plants) so I have no idea how to make/write a script like that.
      But I just rebooted my pi and MM2 didn’t start. So I can make changes to the setting now and start MM2 via the commandline.

    • Why keeps MM2 starting even when I've pressed ctrl+Q?

      I just have installed MM2 and I would like to make changes now to the setup of MM2 but when I press Alt and close the MM2 (or use Ctrl+Q) after a few seconds MM2 is up and running agian!!
      How can I stop this? I would like to have MM2 to start after the Pi has booted or after I started it from the commanline. Not on it’s own!

    • RE: Does a hardware on/off button conflict with the mirror software?

      @qu1que
      Hi there,

      Thanks for your reply. Best thing is just to test it with a new clean install of resbian I guess.
      I also found this post but after I posted my own question.
      I find the possibility of using an app to “shut down” the system also great and hope this also works for an Android device. ;)

      I’ll just have to use my breadboard and test it out. But I think I’ll order a Pi zero W for that purpose.
      If I screw it up it only costed about €10,- :face_with_tears_of_joy: :rolling_on_the_floor_laughing:

    • Does a hardware on/off button conflict with the mirror software?

      Hi all,

      I’m still in the process of gathering all components voor my mirror and reading up on it.
      And I run into a small thing: I’d like to shutdown my Raspberry Pi 3B+ when I go to bed.
      So I’d like to add a fysical button like discribed here: howchoo
      And I’d like to use this button for that.

      But I’d like to know if this works with the MagicMirror software?
      On a windows pc this would work (the “sleep-mode”) but I haven’t got that much experience with a Pi to know it would work.
      So that’s why I’m asking it here.

      Kind regards,
      Mike

    • Need write access for update

      I got a notification that there was an update and to install it I had to type:
      npm i -g npm

      But when I do this I get all kind off warnings about “missing write access to /usr/lib/node_…”
      #1: Is this a real update
      #2: how do I give it write access?

      @sharmstr
      Indeed, I’ve read that in there.
      Still in the reading part.

      Kind regards,
      Mike
