@monilshah You are far away from having it work my friend even if you could tackle this new issue you ran across. We had not even heard about this before now but been working at it long before October 22.
Check this two threads out and read them thoroughly from the beginning and maybe with some luck who knows what may happen…it didn’t happen for me… still going at it though :)

@monilshah Are you sure you have done the other steps correctly before the speechAssets part?
@Monilshah I dont think you need to clear anything in that box just drag and drop the contents of speechAssets to it and that part will work.
However you will find out that the actual module wont work without modifications that i have not been able to figure out how to make…some people have gotten it to work but the majority have not. I have configured face recognition and a bunch of other modules but this is the only one i have not been able to and it is exactly what i need

@strawberry-3-141 I know i have ALSA on my system but i don’t recall ever having to install Pulseaudio on my system. Is it required by this module? pulse audio that is …can i install it??

@strawberry-3-141 Hello there,
I tested the mics following the steps on the above site and my microphone works just fine no errors the audio is good coming from the speakers and clear i do get a warning that does not affect anything that says:
“Warning: rate is not accurate (requested = 44100Hz, got = 48000Hz)
please, try the plug plugin”
but it does not affect the audio or the command actually when i try another mic it does not give me that error at all however the audio is not nearly as good.
So to recap the mic works it records a test file and gives no errors.

Did what you asked and on the MM itself it says Error Undefined but on the debug log everything sems to go fine until the very last sentence that says this:
“Error opening audio device plughw:1 for capture: Connection refused
FATAL: “continuous.c”, line 245: Failed to open audio device”
When i run “cat /proc/asound/cards” i get this
“0 [ALSA ]: bcm2835_alsa - bcm2835 ALSA
bcm2835 ALSA
1 [Set ]: USB-Audio - USB Headphone Set
USB Headphone Set at usb-3f980000.usb-1.5, full speed”
And in the config.js file obviously i have selected the only mic i have right now number 1 USB headphone set and i know it is working just fine.
Let me know how what does that tell you

@strawberry-3-141 OK i am trying to install this module and i have read all forum posts on this thread.
I did have AlexaPi installed and working previously and as i can tell from other users this installation ruins it but i could live with that. However MMM-voice keeps giving error 1 on its error log even after deleting node modules, pocketsphinx and sphinxbase and reinstalling again. The icon on MM goes briefly Ready Select Mode than back to Error how do i fix that like i said i have read everything all installations go perfectly all 1 through 5 out of 5. what am i doing wrong??
The other question is… I also want to use 2 microphones ideally and both apps… i was using AlexaPi flawlessly with one of the mics and i wanted to use a second mic for MMM-voice since it gives you the option to select which one you want to use do you think that is doable? is it meant for that??
What can i do to use both AlexaPi and one of the MMM voice modules so i can control the display and show and hide certain modules both on the same Rpi.
I tried MMM-MirrorMirrorOnTheWall already but i am stuck half way with no one to help me through the end and it is an extremely difficult module to fully install.
Anyhow any help will be greatly appreciated

@OceanK Any news my friend??? I am so upset that we are not progressing with this module…it is exactly what i need and we can not get it to work.

Myself and a bunch of other fellows in here have gotten quite further down the road …
it is very fun and worth it… however there is one catch… we all have the PIRs and the LEDs around the mirror working etc etc… or the Spotify and bunches of other utility modules but one thing we can not seem to figure out is how to get Alexa (which is present and working on the Mirror itself) to control the actual Mirror such as this https://github.com/joanaz/MMM-MirrorMirrorOnTheWall and the actual skill which is this … https://github.com/joanaz/MirrorMirrorOnTheWallSkill
It is the only way to total control and customization of your Mirror… and the further you dig the more you will end up looking at the above as we all are :)

Does anyone know how to use 2 USB microphones on 1 Raspberry Pi to control 2 separate modules one for AlexaPi outside MagicMirror that i have working right now and works fine and the other for a voice control module for MagicMirror to just turn on and off MM modules.??
Meaning how can you assign a USB id of one mic to one module and the other usb id of the other mic to the other module so they can both be listening at the same time for their own hotwords without having resource conflict??

@3d thank you for the tip did not know that …and of course i would get values, i am in the middle of Dallas and Plano what was i thinking LOL… and i also get values for Costco and Sams that i asked a few posts above…so that’s a good thing cause we always use those 99% of the time as a small business.
Anyhow the issue remains just “Updating…”

@cowboysdude Hey buddy i just installed your module and all i get is “updated at XDate@Time” and no other information?? Is the module currently working? can you test it with zip codes 75252 and 75093 and see if you get any info please?? Maybe there is no information on my area

Ok so may be it is the Magic Mirrors configuration fault the keys copied to the magic mirror config etc?? maybe we need to redo that one more time
have you tried reinstalling (delete completely, download again and reinstall) the MMM- MirrorMirrorOnTheWall part only?? than play around with the key paths and files again etc.
Because there is zero communication back with the mirror… all we are doing so far is fine tuning a skill within Alexa…but what worries me the most is why isn’t Alexa showing any videos or images on my Echo Spot …although now that i think about it is that i have not tested it with the Echo Spot since I made the code changes.
If you got the MMM module on github the readme file was updated 15 hours ago but i see no other changes since the 3 months ago for mirrormirror.js file
anyhow all we got to do is keep trying
Well here it is the 100% Error on CSE is this
"400 badRequest
Indicates that the query was invalid. E.g., parent ID was missing or the combination of dimensions or metrics requested was not valid.
Do not retry without fixing the problem. You need to make changes to the API query in order for it to work."
How do we fix this??
Any progress on this at all i have not done anything i was out of town since last Wednesday.
I don’t know which direction we should look towards … maybe the api keys and requests are the one messing up
i went back on the google developer console and i see my YouTube api hit a few times and with zero errors i also see the CSE (custom search engine) api hit also but with 100% errors …why ??
Since it is presenting the data by api numbers that means that the keys are working right but what is the error about??? where do you read more info about that???

Yeap exactly like yours …so does that mean that Lambda is not communicating back with Alexa and why not is the million dollar question question??
Another thing i noticed when you ask for images or display text no errors get recorded on Lambda …does this mean that our Api are missing for searches we have something wrong

Without testing anything new today …still at work. just from the old ones i went on google developer console where we got our api and cse key and i find absolutely no logs whatsoever the api and keys have never been used so they are not being hit by Alexa or the mirror the data tables have no data at all all clean and clear
so that means that there is no communication between them i will verify again once i get home if i am not to tired
