@kristjanesperanto if you use my install script it does that

RE: MMM-Globe
@qu1que u need to enable the opengl driver…
run raspi-config from the commandline,
Advanced Options (7), GL Driver (A7), OpenGL desktop driver with full KMS (G3)
the module doesn’t list this as a requirement

RE: Rpi 4 and two monitors
well, I finally got it to work , note I have two displays that support 4k, 3840x2160, so my screen pos is double yours
in /boot/config.txt
[pi4] # Enable DRM VC4 V3D driver on top of the dispmanx display stack dtoverlay=vc4-fkms-v3d max_framebuffers=4
and in /boot/cmdline.txt
add cma=384M to the end of the line, like this…plymouth.ignore-serial-consoles cma=384M
then you must power down and back up for these changes to be applied

https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/24436/drm_ioctl_mode_create_dumb-failed-cannot-allocate-memory/9I was getting the DRM cannot allocate memory error
MagicMirror/run-start.sh line for chromium
chromium-browser -noerrdialogs -kiosk --user-data-dir='Default' --window-position=0,0 -start_maximized --disable-infobars --app=http://localhost:$port --ignore-certificate-errors-spki-list --ignore-ssl-errors --ignore-certificate-errors 2>/dev/null
MagicMirror2/run-start.sh line for chromium
chromium-browser --disable-bundled-ppapi-flash -noerrdialogs -kiosk -start_maximized --window-position="3840,0" --disable-infobars --app=http://localhost:$port --ignore-certificate-errors-spki-list --ignore-ssl-errors --ignore-certificate-errors --user-data-dir='Test2' # 2>/dev/null
this boots up and both MM start via pm2 and display on separate screens, with different content (modules in different positions)
here is a screenshot of my dev system connected to both MM servers at the same time
(the displays are two hdmi ports on the same TV, so I can’t show them physically at the same time)

RE: How to write and test CSS without going crazy..
@cluelesscarter can u describe that again.
clone mirror on your desktop?
if u have the config set to
address:"0.0.0.0", ipWhitelist:[],
then u can open your PC browser on the pi mm site http://pi_ip:8080
if u install winscp or bitvise ssh client on your PC, then u can double click edit files on your pi, just like u do on windows.
so u can run mm on pi, view and edit styles on chrome/Firefox on PC, edit pi custom.css directly from PC, over ssh ( I use notepad++ as my PC editor), save custom.css, then refresh browser page to see new styles applied via custom.css
all with only one copy of MagicMirror installed.

RE: Needs a modern interface to setup
@drphil02 oh, one more thing. this is open source.
those that care, need, want… contribute…I do all this for fun. because its a challenge. cause I get to meet some awesome people who have awesome ideas how their system should look and behave.
I do the install script to help users get up and running quickly, feel some accomplishment and want to continue
and upgrade to try to keep their systems running thru all the churn of change going on.
why?
because I can. -
RE: MMM-Globe
@Artech it takes a lot of processor power… and covers other modules
-
RE: 4 inch RPi LCD displaying MM not working
@aecandroid the lcd is probably not DISPLAY :0… which mm.sh sets.
Boot, open terminal window and dump the env looking for display

RE: Is there a tutorial for pushing development to Git?
@oldrocker not here, as it’s a general GitHub thing
-
make a fork of the thing you want to change
done on GitHub (push the fork button) -
git clone your copy/fork, not the original
-
make a new branch , any name
git checkout -b branch_name -
make and test your changes, make sure to update any files that require documenting your change
-
git commit your changes to the local repo( clone copies the hidden git repo)
-
git push your changes to your GitHub fork
-
submit a pull request to the original repo offering your changes
done on github
how to do each thing you will have to learn
