      @Mykle1 First off, thanks so much for a great guide. I’m having what is likely a simple issue, but I can’t figure out how to resolve it. I am getting the following error message with the npm start command. Not concerned about the warnings, but how do resolve the DISPLAY issue?

      $ npm start
      npm WARN config global `--global`, `--local` are deprecated. Use `--location=global` instead.

      > magicmirror@2.20.0 start
      > DISPLAY="${DISPLAY:=:0}" ./node_modules/.bin/electron js/electron.js

      'DISPLAY' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
      operable program or batch file.

          @Mykle1 Thanks for your help on the DISPLAY issue. I changed the line in packages.json file to:

          “start”: “node_modules/.bin/electron js/electron.js”,

          I get the following error message back:

          > magicmirror@2.20.0 start
          > node_modules/.bin/electron js/electron.js

          'node_modules' is not recognized as an internal or external command,

                  @dude31222 never tried win7 myself… this topic was created a while ago…

                  you can TRY setting an environment variable in the cmd.exe window before executing npm start

                  cd MagicMirror
                  set ELECTRON_DISABLE_GPU=1
                  npm start

                      @dude31222 that usually means u didn’t do the fonts install step or vendor install step

                      those are extra for windows install

                            Heyo!
                            I’ve done a fresh install of MM2 (on Win10), and now I’m struggling with the blank electron screen.

                            I did the vendor and font install, changed the package.json to

                            "start":"node_modules/.bin/electron js/electron.js",

                            according to the guide on page 15, and now I’m getting

                            bash: line 1: node_modules.binelectron: command not found

                            on npm start, doesn’t start up MM.

                              @Reila you did not do the package.json edit correctly.

                              windows uses slashes leaning left

                              and u need 2 in each place

                              node-modules\\.bin\\electron  js\\electron.js

                                Oh, I just copied as it was! It might have been a different guide, it was old after all… I see the backward slashes in a later post now.

                                So now I tried

                                "start": "node_modules\\.bin\\electron  js\\electron.js",

                                (with both the double and single space, just in case) and it’s giving me the same error still.
                                I tested changing the start-dev variant too.
                                I must be missing another step still.

                                      @Reila hm… this is what mine is set to

                                      "start": "node_modules\\.bin\\electron js\\electron.js",

                                      and I don’t get any errors, but electron starts full screen, black screen

                                      but if I open edge and go to localhost:8080 it looks great and if I open electron
                                      (the 1st part, node_modules\.bin\electron) and go to http://localhost:8080
                                      it works…
