As lovely as the news feed is, i’d like the possibility of click (ok well going to go with Leap motion) so the motion of clicking to load the news for viewability (either in a window/ or something like plain text when on iphone on a website).

Also it would be great to have vid’s feed through that can be (click motion) to watch.

Has anyone achieved this, if not can some one detail any obstacles they see and what the scripts are made of so i can look at this achieving this desired use.!

Example : first few minutes of Extant s01e01

That would be really a great idea! I run the local news for rss and being able to read it would be really awesome!

Thought of something like this since day one for me … but I shoved it to the back (where it fell off now) for a few reasons:
        a) if this is in my bathroom, I don’t want to be standing there reading news, so I’d never use it there
        b) if this is in the living room, I’m just walking by and glancing at it, again, not going to stop to read
        c) as above, if I’m in the living room, I can just turn on my TV and watch the news, all day if I wanted to (who has time for that?!)
        c) if I’m at the computer, I can always pull up the news site

In the end it ended up being a ‘nice idea, but won’t get used’, at least not in my house hold. It’s practicality for me.

That said, I understand everyone’s situation is different. Perhaps you do like to stand at your bathroom sink and read the news. Or perhaps your mirror is in a place where people do stop and read. No one is saying you can’t do that.

Just something to chew on …

A Life? Cool! Where can I download one of those from?

          Ah, i should explain.

I intend for it to be divided across three mirrors and be in my front room as a centrepiece where all data relevant to me feeds (i intend to also have the RSS feeds pre culled for the news relevant to me using our working system in my other project), but if anyone has already created the > motion> viewability that solves one problem and i can just concentrate on arranging a API to update the rss script/replace with pre configed news.

Sure there will be a mirror in the bathroom (hopefully all rooms) but just feeds, but for the main dynamic functionality would be required.

            Both have great points!!!

I would like to be able to it as well. My problem is a bit different. When I get up to get ready it would be nice while standing there to be able to read it… you know see a headline and then click on it to open it up if I am so inclined :)

@cowboysdude I’ve made a clickable newsfeed that gives you the description of the headline when touched, it’s not the entire article, but it’s a little more info on the headline.
