@olexs now, I don’t have this glass on my mirror, but in my experience the reflection part will become much better when there is no light coming from the back as it does now! :) (Even the tiniest amount of light from the other side lessen the reflection!)

@broberg You mean the small bit on the left side of the mirror? I’ll cover than with a black backpane then, if that makes such a difference. Otherwise, all the light coming in behind is from the monitor only, 3 of edges are flush to the monitor frame (I made a mistake when taking the original measurements, the mirror is 1cm too wide… but that I can live with, the frame will cover the edges eventually).

@olexs it actually looks like there is a space between the glass and the monitor frame, but I could be wrong :)

@broberg No, the mirror sits on the metal of the LCD panel framing, held in place (temporarily) with some tape. There might be some very tiny space between them where the frame isn’t perfectly even - I guess I could try putting some black foam or paper in between there to have the mirror pressed on as flush as possible. Ultimately, I think I’ll have to build the frame sooner rather than later - that will completely cover the sides and ~1cm of the front on each edge, there should be no room for any light bleed from the outside after that.

I use a Led monitor from the manufacturer dell.

The degree of reflection depends, of course, also on the light conditions in the room. A perfect mirror for all possible exposure modes is not available due to the special effect. The effect of a spy mirror comes through the refinement and therefore there are so many different transmission values. A spy mirror can and will never be an exact copy of an “normal” mirror. But this Spy mirror is the best mirror I’ve seen so far and I’ve really tested a lot. It simply offers the best compromise of all application types. You can’t buy a car that has 1000 hp and only 2 liters of petrol consumption ;)That can not even be built by the worlds best car manufacturer, if you understand what I mean :) the mixture is the most important ;)

Does your room have daylight? Can you adjust the lamps? You just have to play a Little with the light conditions :) your picture confuses me also because the font Looks so blue. In my mirror it is for example absolutely white. Please try some different Settings until you find the best solution for you :)

On the latest pictures you posted, what size is your monitor? And what size is your glass? :) Your monitor appears to have a very black black. It looks great!

Here is a comparison picture with a normal hand mirror. The Spy mirror is a little bit darker but that did not troubled me personally.
