***Noob Alert*** MagicMirror coding issues!!!
-
I apologize in advance, but this is my very first build and as much as I’m intrigued with building my first mirror, I’m getting more frustrated by the minute.
So far I’ve figured out how to install MagicMirror and have it boot up automatically. I’m currently running RPI 3. I’ve been doing a lot of research and I’ve been trying a lot of things with no luck.
This build is for my wife for our anniversary (which is approaching rather quickly) so I’d like to have the coding down and working properly before hand.
The things that I’m trying to accomplish:
-
the default weather app is not displaying on the screen at all (I’ve signed up for an API key via openweathermaps.org and also figured in my location ID) I’ve placed them both in the correct locations, but still no weather display.
-
there are several modules that I want to incorporate within the mirror but I’m not sure of how to install them either.
-
last but not least, I would like to change the “NY Times” newsfeed to a more local feed, but really don’t know how to go about that either.
Again I appreciate all help that can be given! Thank you and I hope with your help, I’ll be able to present this present on time!

I will test your config entry if you post it here using this guide.

Do a google search for rss newsfeeds to find the feed that you want. You need the rss url to the feed. With that url you can replace the NY Times url or add it to your newsfeed module.

We’ll get you sorted. No worries.
