Thanks for your reply, may i know have you purchased with or without mirrorOH I’m sorry… This will not be a mirror. It’s just a touch screen with glass and it’s more like a ‘command center’ for my house. BUT I used clear glass on top of the TV then the touch frame on top of the glass. Can’t be sure if a mirror would give the same response because the actual thickness of a real glass mirror is much more than a regular piece of glass.

Well after 9 months here’s my update…
The HestiaPi thermostat is a go… My mirror is touch so I can actually load this in an iFrame and manipulate the controls [tested and working :)].
I have temp and humid sensors on the way so that I can see what’s going on in my entire house :)
Next: create a new sitemap for openHab because here in the US we don’t have our Hot water attached to the Thermostat. Our tanks are stand alone and we control it on the tank itself. So I can cut that site map down quite a bit and only show what I want it to show… :) Not complaining but I thought I had help with this but … guess I"m on my own LOL Sooooooooooooo
Nice having Touch on the mirror :)

@cowboysdude Can you please give a list of hardware? I saw from other comments that you are ordering the touch screen from Alibaba, but what about the monitor and the frame?
Can you please post some pictures so we can see how you assembled them together?
Thanks.
-
@blaiseliu Well it isn’t ‘assembled’ as of yet…kinda just propped up on my desk LOL
For hardware I’m using a mini itx board with intel chip and ssd hard drive in a small case.
The TV is a Vizio 32" tv…Yes the touch screen works VERY well… no issues there… let me see if I can pull it all together for you and I’ll post it later.

I do not understand if you finally used the touchscreen with a glass or mirror. Ty

@dvbit I use it with glass…no mirror…

OK BIG update…
I’ve decided after trying to figure some things out and I have come to this conclusion:
- I’m CLEARLY not going to get help with a thing or two I asked for help on, that’s okay… people are busy or just not interested either way I have learned some useful information…
- I have to choose a new platform [that would work best with controlling things, still using MM as a backbone] that will give me what I want, I’ll be doing research on this to figure out what works best.
I’m open to suggestions for this:
My goal is to be able to control my therm, door lock, see temp and humidity in every room…control lights…
If anyone has had luck with the above feel free to offer suggestions!! I’m looking for hardware and api input.
Thanks in advance!

@cowboysdude - Sounds like you’re trying to build a homebrew version of something like a Crestron system ?
Have you thought about using OpenHAB ? It would seem to fit what you’re trying to do, but it’s not an MM system, it’s designed more as a standalone solution.
The issue I’ve found with IoT devices is finding companies that will release the API to “non commercial” people (ie, if you’re a company, they’ll let you access the API, if a home user, no chance). I’ve had this with my heating system who’ve told me in no uncertain terms I can’t have access to the API for their product. Given I already queried the quantity of data they’re shipping back to their servers (in the name of providing a “seamless and responsive user experience”), I don’t think they want me having a peek inside their system.
