I was looking for a project to demonstrate to a class of incoming students that was flashy and would catch people’s interest. I was given a small budget and a Linux ci20 dev board. I was hoping not to have to purchase another Pi and was wondering if I could use the board for a magic mirror project.

I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t work. Throw ubuntu on there, the MM software and let her rip! Keep me posted!

Oh, I see it runs Linux Debian 8. That shouldn’t be a problem either.

@Mykle1 At work we use both Pi and Debian for our software. We’ve found that while Debian works, it’s just different enough to present several annoyances. The paths for common Linux features are different and some commands are just not present. These are not insurmountable problems, but they do present extra hurdles for the development team.

In short: You can probably do it, but expect to spend some extra time on it.

Ahh, ok, my bad. I thought I read that it supported ubuntu, but after searching again, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Thanks for the heads up.
