Weatherunderground - currently - hourly - daily - configurable

New version now shows the current moon phase and there’s a new layout option :)
in config set layout:“vertical” for the traditional layout:

or layout: “horizontal” for:

-
@RedNax Excellent idea, I really like the new layout option. As soon as you have more than 4 days in the forecast table, though, you end up with a module that takes up a lot of your screen, I’d suggest adding a new table row every four days.
-
@yo-less Thanks, i’ve added your suggestion :D
-
@RedNax That was quick :D. Nice!
I’m still toying around with my fork of your module but I’ve made so many minor and bigger adjustments that it will be hard to simply merge the two module versions, as I would have to make every adjustment customizable in the config file to submit a pull request you could easily merge, but I will keep you updated on my progress. -
@RedNax Thanks a lot for this beauty! Really love it :)
And the new horizontal design is an awesome idea as well!I have a little remark anyway: In the text area it states the min/max temperature. From my personal point of view it should be either “°C” or “°” but not just “C”. Maybe that’s a localization thing…?!
-
Thanks! The text area is reproduced as it is delivered by WeatherUnderground… so barring any heuristics on the actual content it’s beyond our control…
-
@RedNax I managed to parse my way through it with some crazy regex stuff a few days ago (As this is the first time I have done this, it took me an insane amount of time to add the degree symbol only where it should be added), I know I keep saying this, but I will eventually push it to my MMM-WunderGround fork and then you can decide which of my features you would like to implement.
-
@yo-less Wow, kudos… i consider regex to be black magic ;)
-
@RedNax Thanks, my head certainly felt like it had been occupied with occult practices when I was done :D
-
@RedNax i have little question. I have a small question. If you want to update the module I have to copy the files manually from github? Is there a command or something that will do it automatically? Forgive the question, just starting to work with raspberry etc :)
-
@Plati go into the modules directory and type
git pull -
@strawberry-3.141 but always I get an answer “Already up-to-date.”
-
@Plati then there is no update and you are on the newest version
-
@strawberry-3.141 The last update is from yesterday, last updated my files was a week ago
-
are you on the master branch?
-
@strawberry-3.141 no, in module.
cd ~/MagicMirror/modules/default/MMM-WunderGround git pull -
that is not a default module path should be
~/MagicMirror/modules/MMM-WunderGround -
@strawberry-3.141 Ok, i deleted my version (who i copy manually from github) and instal by commands:
git clone https://github.com/RedNax67/MMM-WunderGround.git to ~/MagicMirror/modules/Now i see folder .git. Maybe the next updates this work.
-
@RedNax First, I love the module. You did a great job. I am very new to coding and still working on building my Magic Mirror. Right now I am just making customizations to the modules. I was wondering if it would be possible to get rid of the precipitation amount? The combination of precipitation percentage and precipitation amount seems a little cluttered. Maybe this only applies to me since I live in Southern California and we rarely get rain. The second thing I was wondering is if it would be possible to either: a) Have a combination of Horizontal (hourly forecast) and Vertical (daily forecast) or b) Have some sort of delineation between hourly and daily forecast? If these are possible and you could point me in the right direction that would be great. I have very limited coding experience, but I would be happy to try. Again, thank you for the module.

@byoung2010 Hi!
Check out the Dev branch, made a start on flexible layout… not perfect yet, so feel free to improve it!
New options available are:
hourlylayout: "horizontal", dailylayout: "vertical", showpop: 0,Which, i think, are self explanatory to you :)
