Raspberry Pi 4 Released !
-
I was so hyped by this unexpected message I needed to order one (the 4gb of course).
Please mind that it’s going to have a new kernel and current Raspbian Stretch will presumably not work on this one. A new Raspbian (Buster) has already been released. So we’ll have to see if MM runs on it without problems…

@dazza120 yes.
You can read here a very good article about all the good things it can do and how the Pi 4 is performing compared to the previous generation. :)

Anyone know if you can just boot off of the usb from an SSD?
Already I use a ssd with raspberry pi 3 b+. I hope will be working sane with raspberry 4.
-
@electros yeah I do too but would love it to boot without altering it, to do it

hmmmm. somewhat expensive (only in Germany?)
Recently I’ve purchased several stronger alternatives - Khadas Edge-V around $100, NVIDIA Jetson nano $100 also.
I will buy this one also for test, but could it be better than those?I was going to buy it from Germany too thinking at the good prices I got for the Pi 3 B, but at this round for some reason it is WAY cheaper (EUR 59 + shipping) to buy it from Italy for me.
However let’s see what comes out with MagicMirror once I get it delivered (they say 24h) especially by using the new Raspbian Buster… :crossed_fingers_medium_skin_tone:
Any news? Just ordered mine as they where out of stock on the first day lol, need to get a micro to usb C adapter and a micro hdmi cable then get this puppy running
-
2hdmi… 2 instance of MM possible?
-
Just got mine. Gonna give it a try tonight.
-
Base package installed and runs fine. Moving on to the modules now.
-
All my modules work except MMM-SingleStock. So far it loads much faster than the Pi 3. I had to abandon using MM2 because I could not run it for more than 3 hours without crashing. Fingers crossed the 4 is more stable. Will let it run overnight to see.

Yeah my Pi 3 seems to run out of memory, I opted for 4Gb model should have enough grunt to run everything with any issues
