[SOLVED] Can I display MagicMirror on a TV, with no mirror?
-
Can I use MagicMirror display to just to a plain old hdmi output tv, do I need to add the whole mirror aspect for this to display information?
-
Yep, no mirror needed. You can just display the info on a screen.

On YouTube there is a series of how to make a magic mirror without the frame. “Raspberry Pi MagicMirror without the Mirror Part 1: Basic Setup.” I followed her videos and everything is working great. I use a small TV.

i do it on two different systems…
i built a photoframe with MM, that also displays other info I want, it hangs on the wall in my foyer, I see it on the way to the room I use as an office… 32in tv
in my office, I have a 55in 4k tv, that I do development and support for MM and others and one input is similar to the screen out in the foyer… it displays pictures, calendar and weather.

I’m currently running mirrorless on the system I still have running (office) - and will be running mirrorless on the system I’m gonna rebuild for my house. Both systems are half built, actually, I’m gonna put one behind lightly darkened glass, and the other one was disassembled for a move, and never bothered to put back together, yet.

@gregf I just finishd my MagicMirror² as Picture In Frame which hang in our kitchen now and informs about calendar-entries, weather, time and when the next bus will go.
No need to have a mirror-glass
