It ain't much, but it's mine

I finished my mirror quite a while back, but I’m bored in confinement at home, so I thought I’d share.

Made of two old monitors I had lying around.
Not too many modules, we wanted to keep it sober and a mirror first and foremost.I wrote the bottom left and right modules myself, but as a developer by trade, the most fun and challenging part for me was certainly building the frame. It’s pretty rough and quite simple, but completely homemade.

… yeah, a drunk magicmirror is no joke.
… seriously, though, nice work. Would love to see the back/guts of the thing.

They’re quite simple, the left one is a traffic map and the other is a passage table for my local public transport company.

Looks nice and clear. Congratulations on this work!
I am always curious to see how it looks from behind to see how others have installed the individual parts. Do you use two Raspberries? -

I am always curious to see how it looks from behind to see how others have installed the individual parts. Do you use two Raspberries? No, it’s a single RPi 4, which has two micro hdmi outputs.
I would take a picture of the back, but the thing is super heavy and I need to remove all the gadgets from the mantelpiece… Maybe later. But there’s nothing really special about the back to be honest. The two monitors are held in place with a couple of metal brackets, I used wago connectors to wire all power inputs together and have a single power cable to feed everything, and that’s it.

That’s right, I can do it now. I hadn’t thought about it.
