MMM-RAIN-MAP (new: version 2.x)
-
@jalibu: I noticed that the show / hide state of the module now changes correctly according to the changes of the MMM-OpenWeatherMap Module
However, if I restart my mirror on a sunny day, then the RAIN-Map module will be displayed until it starts and stops to rain at least once (and therefore MMM-OWM changes).
So, if it were not raining for a long time, the module would still be displayed until the weather changes.
Is this the intended behaviour of the module or did I just configure something wrong?
Thanks again for your help!

@fozi Nope, I’m not using MMM-Pages. But I am using stuff like MMM-ModuleScheduler and MMM-RemoteControl tho.
Maybe they are causing similar issues …
But lemme check the update!
-
@ph1tch I’d assume that MMM-ModuleScheduler is the culprit…I have MMM-RemoteControl, too, and it causes no issues.
Curious to see if it works. -
@ph1tch haha, the case of no rain for a long time is so hard to test in Germany this year…
-
@fozi So far the update seems to have fixed it … it hasn’t rained since, so I can not confirm it yet, but this is just a matter of hours :beaming_face_with_smiling_eyes:
-
Moin @jalibu, seems like we’re in the same Boat!
Weirdly enough, it hasn’t rained today ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I’ll have an eye on it once it starts again!
-

Happy to announce, that there is a 30 minute forecast in the latest version. Please test and feedback.
-
@jalibu Thanks for the update, man! You rock!
I installed the update, but unfortunatelly no map is displayed at all. No matter ifdisplayOnlyOnRain:is set true or false.
I opened an issue an github https://github.com/jalibu/MMM-RAIN-MAP/issues/12 -
@Jalibu Awsome, thanks for the quick fix!
As far as I can see the forecast for 30 min. works fine. At the moment I can’t discover any issues. I dunno how you found a way to pull those forecasts, but thanks for your effort! -
@Jalibu 30min works great thanks! Only thing I could think of is it possible to put a delay between zoom levels?
-

The latest version 2.2.0 now also has an optional timeline feature.
-
@jalibu Killing it keep it up!

Hi,
I don’t know what I am doing wrong, but I can’t get the map to centre on my location.
//New Module Rain Map { module: "MMM-RAIN-MAP", position: "top_right", config: { animationSpeedMs: 400, colorizeTime: true, defaultZoomLevel: 8, displayTime: true, displayTimeline: true, displayClockSymbol: true, displayOnlyOnRain: false, extraDelayLastFrameMs: 1000, extraDelayCurrentFrameMs: 3000, markers: [ // { lat: 49.41, lng: 8.717, color: "red" }, { lat: 50.212, lng: 5.29, color: "green" }, ], mapPositions: [ { lat: 50.212, lng: 5.29, zoom: 9, loops: 1 }, ], mapUrl: "https://{s}.tile.openstreetmap.org/{z}/{x}/{y}.png", mapHeight: "420px", mapWidth: "420px", substitudeModules: [], updateIntervalInSeconds: 300, } },Am I doing something completely wrong? It just centres around Rochefort, and not Cornwall.
EDIT: I’m an idiot… it should be -5 not 5 for lng. Fixed. Thank you for this!

The new rain-map is working wonderful. Does anyone know a map, with transparent or light transparent background?
-
-
@Jalibu is there an option to limit the time period into the past and into the future?
-
@majorc not yet.
But you can open a feature request issue and say “please please please please” -

may not exactly what you want but I’m using this map
mapUrl: "https://tiles.wmflabs.org/bw-mapnik/{z}/{x}/{y}.png",which is nearly uncoloured.
