The Mystic Mirror: An Alexa-powered Magic Mirror
-
pretty nice! how did you set up the RSS-Feed module to show pictures and the text? :)
-
@schlachtkreuzer6 That was posted 5 months ago and never heard from him again… LOL
-
@schlachtkreuzer6 @cowboysdude I didn’t disappear – I’ve just been heads down on a few projects and my day job. The communication is based on sending messaged via MQTT from my Alexa Skill to the Raspberry Pi. The source code can be found here - https://github.com/darianbjohnson/Mystic_Mirror_Project
Note - I’m actually in the process of building a new version of this mirror that better aligns with the “official” magic mirror code base (though still using Alexa to dynamically show and hide content) Hoping to have it rolled out by mid March.

@darianbjohnson Hi, thanks. I’ll be sure to check that out. Good luck with the new project. Let us know how it goes!

@darianbjohnson just came across this post, and sorry for necromancing, but i am curious if you ever finished that new version that alignes with the official base code?
i just discovered this project and i love the look of the new Magic Mirror 2, but really want the alexa and selfie functionality.

Yes @darianbjohnson i second @batfastard I really want Alexa to hide and show modules and for the life of me i am unable to figure out MMM-MirrorMirrorOnTheWall and its corresponding skill…i have gone midway to it where it hears my requests and it tries to do things but no response on the way back to the mirror. Anyhow this would be interesting too
