      Hello friends,

      I humbly ask for your assistance.

      My MMM-Lunartic module worked flawlessly, until yesterday. The url I am using for the image of the moon suddenly produces this error.

      GET https://api.usno.navy.mil/imagery/moon.png?date=today&time=now
      net::ERR_INSECURE_RESPONSE

      I spent the better part of last night trying solutions that I found googling, mostly those on stackOverflow but was unable to resolve this issue.

      I would be forever grateful if someone would be kind enough to help me solve this. Thank you in advance.

        @mykle1 looks like the server certificate by api.usno.navy.mil for https communication has expired, or someone has intercepted your request and has a fake cert

        I get that error using your url on my phone

          @sdetweil

          I did read that in my searches. At first I thought it was a change in the way the api was giving the data. I too put the url in my browser. The browser reported that my connection was NOT SECURE but I had an option to continue which I accepted. That brought me right to the image.

          Now I’m looking for a solution. Perhaps a work-around that bypasses the security warning. Or is that a bad idea?

            @mykle1 I don’t know how the browser does the cert bypass.

            If u change the url to http:, it gets redirected to the secure version at https:, which then throws the error

                Unfortunately, it looks as if I have no choice, guru.
