@vintage89, after a very long time I manged to get some time to review. The latest update to MMM-Instagram2020 solves the above issue by automating the whole authentication process.

Hi all, had the same problem, Instagram was acquired by Facebook who have updated the way the API works.
I spent a couple of days writing and testing a new module for Instagram that was based off the original.It requires a Facebook developer account and app, but I have explained it as best i can in readme

For all those who used the great MMM-Instagram; I have created a new module to load Instagram using the updated Facebook API.
It requires a Facebook developer app and the Readme contains the necessary steps to get it up and running.
