@tommy1974
ah THAT’s a rotary switch.
Nice! :-)
I’m going for touch so don’t need this in my current project. But a nice hardware add-on!

RE: Kitchentimer
@tommy1974 Hi Tommy, didn’t fully understand what your were implying with the “rotary switch”
But I just today started working on a new timer module including a keypad and a space where recently used times are shown to quick-choose from.
If you explain a bit more about the rotary switch I may try to include it.Otherwise, I think I will have something on github by the end of the week.

RE: MMM-DarkSkyForecast one part to other section ? - styling question
I would like to have a big actually animated weather icon. But can‘t figure it out how to do that
Also possible using MMM-DarkSkyForecast.
You need to hide all forecast elements, all extra current conditions
showExtraCurrentConditions: false, showSummary: false, showHourlyForecast: false, showDailyForecast: false
and via your custom.css you need to set
.MMM-DarkSkyForecast .current.temperature { display: none; }
That hides hides current temperature and only shows the current icon.
If you want to keep a complete second darksky-module you need to limit above selector to the region you where you want to hide the elements,
e.g..middle_center .MMM-DarkSkyForecast .current.temperature
No guarantees this will work!

RE: MMM-DarkSkyForecast one part to other section ? - styling question
@trividar You can’t easily move part of a module to a completely different section.
So my answer is: “Not without tricks”.
One “trick” would be to use the module in the center region a second time and hide everything but the cloud for that specific module. Slightly messy but possible via css.To the second question: There are animated icons included in MMM-DarkSkyForecast. Maybe have a look at that and check how these are implemented.

RE: Updating to V2.10: package-lock.json
@beech-13465 you can either delete the package-lock.json file or execute the following
git reset --hard git pull
The package-lock.json locks the current state of npm modules installed.
However, as far as I know it’s not problematic to delete it. It is created again with a newnpm install
git reset --hard
resets ALL of your local changes to the MM repository to the latest state of the origin repository -
RE: Third-Party Module - how to get help?
@sdetweil said in Third-Party Module - how to get help?:
cause the darned clock module sends an annoying notice every second.
hasn’t this been resolved with a recent update? If not it should be.
With the update to 2.10.0 I don’t get any notifications by the clock anymore. -
RE: dont get fullscreen on the rpi
@berne YOur question is difficult to understand. A bit more explanation would have helped.
If the whole raspbian desktop is not fullscreen, you might take a look at this:

RE: 24" monitor shows trough glass
This is a common problem and not easy to be solved.
Several things determine that:
- the lighting
- the quality / transparency of your mirror (30% is quite high, acrylic is not really high quality)
- the backlighting of your display.
I would suggest the following:
1st:
- Play with what you have: Better lighting in the room, the brighter the room the better the reflection
- Adjust brightness of the monitor down to as low as possible. Keep contrast high.
- Remember that you can play with the css colors. By standard, all text is set to different levels of gray, not to bright white. You can set all text color in oyur custom.css to a brighter white and lower the brightness of your monitor even more. Copy the entries in the main.css to your custom.css and change them to brighter values.
If that doesn’t suffice
2nd:
- Buy better glass :-). Maybe find someone selling samples of two-way mirror glass.

RE: MM2.10 & Pi3b - run-start.sh issue? (Exit status 7, errno 7, error code ELIFECYCLE)
@xray2607 The error log rather hints to your streaming module being the issue
[06:29:36.399] [ERROR] TypeError: Cannot convert undefined or null to object at Function.keys () at stopProcs (/home/pi/MagicMirror/modules/MMM-RTSPStream/node_helper.js:469:32) at pm2.list (/home/pi/MagicMirror/modules/MMM-RTSPStream/node_helper.js:498:17)
Have you tried deactivating that one and restarting the mirror?
Maybe there’s a problem with both modules disturbing each other for some reason? -
RE: UPDATE: Replaced my PIR-Sensor with a Doppler Microwave Sensor.
@Fozi The odd thing is that I didn’t even get the module installed properly. However, just tried again and it seems to work now. Maybe because of MM v 2.10.0. I don’t know…
